Just got in from a brilliant 2 hours on the peas, which are in flower and about 12" high. Had to work this morning, and used the time to make a genius portable hide. Put the hide out in the middle of the field at half 11 covering a large area of grazed peas. We were finished and set up for just after 12, I have never seen pigeons so keen to come in, literally nose to tail and even standing up to shoot wouldn't stop the ones behind coming in. Ended up with 142 between 2 of us, here's a picture of some of the picking up before the heavens opened and I didn't fancy getting my phone out!

We also had 180 odd from the same field last autumn on standing wheat that had been lost to the weather, they were coming in much the same but that was over 6/7 hours. Seems to be in there perfect place, between 2 towns and 2 minutes from home. Got barley ready to be cut, probably in the first couple of weeks of July, had better get some cartridges in!
