fruity
Everyone will have there for,s and against, but personal I think ppu brass is very good
Craig83
Dauntsey Guns has Lapua brass in stock at £70 obviously the best brass there is. Failing that you could always buy the cheap stuff and send it off to be sorted and annealed to keep it lasting longer. I truly miss my .
Craig83
If your in the Wiltshire area I have a few bits off .222 ammo you can have
old man
I have used PPU in .308 and .222 for years and no failures yet but I only neck size and a token crimp.
Albert 888
The ppu I have used in 223,308 and 357 has been very good,Hornady in the 223 only did 5 firings. The ppu in my 308 and 357 has been fired 10+ times. Lapua is good at a price but not worth the money unless you are target shooting.

Savhmr
lost of places sell brass PPU is fine but if buying new why not just buy PPU ammo and then reload the empties its stupid cheap for ammo and the brass comes free! its £50 per 100 for ammo £23 for brass! Because a lot of the damned stuff wont chamber!" I tried PPU ammo for my 308 and it was epically awful. Only 2/3rds of the stuff would chamber leaving me with wasted ammo. The stuff that did chamber shot ok if by ok, you are happy with a couple of moa and use it close range (ie within 100m). I'd not take the risk with the ammo again and just buy the brass. Cheap as chips and after half a dozen reloads only works out at 3.8p per cartridge. The brass i found fine. Not as consistent or good quality as Lapua but at half the cost, what's not to like? Another reason for not bothering with the ammo is you'll only have to develop loads yourself which may have a different zero. Just my opinion. Others may be happy with it. I wasn't. Craig83
I agree with Sav, I now only ever use, Sako, Norma or Lapua brass
colin lad
thanks all for the input i have ordered 100 ppu brass from Henry Kranks i see the idea of buy factory ppu rounds but i have a very good recipe for 50g vmax and don't really want to change, i have 60 rws factory loads that that have virtually the same poi as my reloads that i use for dear and my vmax loads for foxing will let you know how i get on with them colin
welshwarrior
Found ppu to be good reliable brass, never had an issue with it not chambering and used a fair amount in a fair few rifles.

It's the factory rounds that I had trouble with chambering (and I know that I'm not alone in that). The brass is fine
Vince Green
PPU is all we ever buy and shoot on the ranges and the cases reload very nicely. PPU has by far the biggest centrefire ammo factory in Europe now and as it has grown other manufacturers like Lapua have closed down plants and contracted. This has led to continual speculation (stated as fact in some sources) that PPU are increasingly manufacturing components as a subcontractor for the other brand names. Savhmr
I have both PPU and Lapua brass here in 223 and 308. They are very different. Case volume is not the same and brass thickness is not the same, and brass colour after cleaning is slightly different, hinting at a variation in alloys between the two. Brass quality seems better with the Lapua. There may be speculation about PPU making brass cases for Lapua, but I'd still be choosing Laupua every time for quality and longevity. It's expensive new but once you hit a dozen or so reloads it's 5p/round which isn't breaking the bank. I'm happy to use PPU (and do), but whatever the speculation, Lapua stamped brass does have the edge on quality and consistency, at least from my experience with it. I'll be sticking with Lap for the 223, where consistency matters more for the longer range stuff that I use it for.
Bewsher500
never got on with PPU in four rifles personally but have a friend who basically stopped reloading as his 308 and 22-250 shoots sub 1/2" on factory rounds that he struggles to reload at the same price
