Beagle boy
Evening guys hope you've had a good Christmas Got some money towards a new shotgun for Christmas, so I'm looking for decent left handed shotgun that fits me well. I'm not botherd about make or model as long as it works, I've read a lot on the bettensoli x trail which I have held but never shot and it seemed to handle well. It will mostly be used a hide gun and occasional clay work Cheers rob
14Supersport04
For 1k you can get a second hand Browning, Miroku or Beretta and plenty of these are left handed.

swotty
If your going to get the gun fitted to you do you specifically need a left-handed gun? I'm left handed and have been shooting with right handed shotguns and rifle for 20 odd years with no real problems. I only say this as you'll get a better right-handed fun for less money. Should have read right-handed fun not fun! That said it's still fun :-)

Gordon R
The OP would do well to get a second-hand gun - Miroku, Browning, Beretta etc., rather than get a new Bettinsoli. There is little comparison in quality - these are streets ahead.
HDAV
You'll get a browning 525 lefthanded (cast on) from factory for £1k mine was £950 (5+ years ago) some dealers specialise in cast on guns I suggest you go to one of these rather than make do with a gun cast the wrong way........ Beretta orbBrowning available in budget so why a bettinsoli???
Wb123
I really struggled to find left handed guns. In the end i drove two hours to a 'specialist' planning to buy a silver pig or browning but they had neither in stock. A Turkish thing in their highly limited selection felt surprisingly nice and seemed to fit well so i bought that instead and have been very happy with it. Dont get me started on finding anything second hand, that is even trickier.

Always best to phone first and check before setting off, I had the choice of both and more ( secondhand ) and a ground to try them at, so I too two from the shop to thenbpground tried them and then bought one! Scully
Good advice above, being that a good secondhand Browning, Miroku or Beretta will be a much better buy than a new Bettinsoli. The latter have greater appeal, greater resale value, are much better made and will give much better service in my opinion.
Beagle boy
Cheers for the replys lads, I think I'll keep an eye out for a decent make/model knocking around. HDAV
Where are you? I recommend a trip to the gun shop in rugby ring before travelling to check what's in stock and try and go on a day that the local clay ground is open (Barby sporting) as you can then try before you buy. Wilts#Dave
Bigger shops such as Avalon Guns stock quite a few left handed guns, just a matter of keeping an eye on the websites and checking stock periodically as obviously they'll not stock a left handed version of every make and model. I've never had a 'problem' finding them, bought a beretta 682golde brand new left handed model some years ago with lovely wood to boot, and a lefthand beretta auto just a couple of years back also new. I'd agree with holding out for a beretta/browning over one of the cheaper guns if you're wanting to keep it long term. That said, a Lanber bought for me nearly 20 years ago is still in my caninet and going strong although it only comes out once a year or so now for sentimental reasons.
