walt1980
I've got some good wellies and some short lace up boots, but would like a decent pair of tall lace ups, 10" I reckon. Saw on another thread Harkilas might not be a great way to go but interested in anything! I don't mind spending decent money on the right pair, expecting £250 ish. Ideally I'd like part leather and part fabric as I find they break in easier and are softer to wear.

Archie-fox
I have many boots but prefer Lowas, whoever you ask will tell you what they own or prefer themselves but 3/4 names always seem to pop up and Meindle are also one of them. +1 for Lowas I were some for work in Black and some for stalking in Brown.. well worth the money!!! My work boots are 15 years old nearly and about to be replaced.
figgy
The best boots are the ones that suit your foot shape and how you walk. Any of the big walking boot companies have very good boots.

ChrisPCarter
You won't be disappointed with the Meindl Dovre Extremes. A lot of professional gamekeepers and stalkers use them in the worst conditions. I've had mine a couple of years and they have been great and are still going strong. I wear them at least a couple of days a week. I've been stood in water up to the tops and they stay dry - I've even sunk in a boggy stream up to my knees and my lower legs and feet still stayed dry! If I'd been wearing wellies I'd have come out standing in 4 pints of water. They give great ankle support on the worst terrain, yet I can still drive in them when I have to. They are comfy straight out of the box too. The only downsides are they need a bit of leather care and they take ages to lace up! When I was looking for boots I don't think I found a single bad review of them anywhere. Bushwear usually have a good deal on them for around £250 ish. I think you can sign up to their mailing list and get a first time discount voucher too. Edited March 3, 2017 by ChrisPCarter
