Jaymo
It's part 'F' of the forms that needs to have details of a Referee Four photos were required and I had to personally sign one-was not a requirement to have them countersigned  That was from my recent SGC Renewal

There quite self explanatory Personally have a coterminous certificate so do need referees  All the best Of   Yes  Correct  Just putting my SGC renewal together for Cambs Police Firearms Licencing Department.  Form 201 comes as an 11 page pack and a guidance page is available.  I need to nominate two referees so they can be contacted if required, they do not need to sign the renewal form.  I only need to send in one photograph and I sign it myself.  They still mention that a renewal takes six weeks so I will give them at least twelve.  The fee is £49.00  The best place to answer you questions is your Firearms Licencing Department! seeker
11.7 The Firearms Rules 1998, as provided for in section 26(2) of the 1968 Act, require an application for the grant or renewal of a shotgun certificate: a) to be accompanied by four identical photographs of a current true likeness of the applicant and sized 45mm x 35mm. If a coterminous certificate application is made, only four photographs are required. Ordinary passport style photographs are suitable for this purpose. A computer generated likeness is acceptable if it is full face, against a plain background and printed on good quality photographic paper; and b) to be accompanied by the details of a person who has agreed to be a referee for the applicant. They are required to be resident in Great Britain, have known the applicant personally for at least two years, and of good character. walshie
Yes you need a referee. No you don't need your photos endorsed. You sign the back of one photo yourself. 3 of us in this house have done it this year. Edited December 29, 2016 by walshie
