fortune
The wife and I are loaded with the worst we have ever encountered. I'm off work and neither of us has been outside for over a week now. The dog wants to get out on patrol but there is no chance of that at the moment. Anyone else suffering. Strange thing is that dogs don't seem to suffer from it.

fortune
I hope that anyone that is suffering soon gets over their particular brand of lurgy. I know that the brand there are suffering from is pretty disabiitating. Hopefully we will have goten on top and will be back into action and back to work next week. Guest stevo
I picked it up on xmas eve. Well that's when I started to feel really rough. Started to feel like I was getting rid of it end of last week. Spent nearly three weeks choughing my backside off. All the lads at work had it around the same time too. A few other people I know outside of work have all had it it to. Seems to be a 4-5 week job. Not nice at all

lord_seagrave
It shouldn't need saying, but please get properly better before venturing out into public. Best of luck Lots of hot drinks, honey, lemon and paracetamol. The occasional nip of whisky will do you no harm. LS

rimfire4969
If it's the proper flu you cannot get out of bed, it's painful to move even worse when you get the shivers. I have a cold it's not nice, head hurts, cough, sore throat, blocked nose not nice, but definitely not the flu.

fortune
Thank you all for holding on to those germs and allowing us to go about our normal shooting activities! Your welcome. Wife and I have been laid up for a week and a half now. It's the worst we've ever had. We are so unwell. Both of us feel like we have been run over or something. Cough. Head ache, every muscle hurts, general fatigue, shots, system like watering golf balls even doing small things is completely knackering. The poor dog hasn't had a walk all of this time other than to go out into the garden. We've told all of the family to stay away, exclusion zone. I thought that I would be going back to work on Monday but it is becoming less likely. Apart from having a hard job to stand up and concentrate on anything it would be unfair and wrong to go in and expose others to what we have. A self employed mate has been taken out for a month with it and he has needed to work but just hadn't been able. He doesn't live near me so I didn't get it from him and neither of us know where or how we got it from. It ain't good
TIGHTCHOKE
Fortune, it does sound like you have what I remember as the flu, not like most people who get a cold and call it flu. Hope you are both feeling better soon.
Harry Callahan
I was nailed with the flu the 2 and 1/2 weeks before Christmas. I could handle the pain and illness - but the fever/running temperature was horrendous! As was the complete exhaustion and lack of energy Christmas was a quiet affair which I saw, but didn't partake. Got out for the New year, then had a lapse for another 10 - 14 days. Wish you both a healthy recovery.
fortune
thanks for the thoughts. it is interesting to see that this brand of Lurgy has travelled far and wide and how it has affected people. The sun has just come out and I feel the want to get out into the fresh air and take the dog for a run but I also realise that if I did then I would get about 100 yards and run out of energy and suffer a relapse back to bed again. Poor dog, it doesn't seem as if she's to fussed about going out. We'll watch the rugby instead.
