dankidd
Morning chaps! I've acquired an Escort semi auto in black synthetic this morning in 12g... That's about all I know about it! How do you tell what model it is? I've seen MK1, 2 and 3 but haven't got a clue what this one is.

sportsbob
Briefly and as far as I am aware the Mk 1 has a single piece loading gate and a short flat end to the magazine end cap and flush fitting chokes, the Mk 2 has a two piece loading gate with a longer conical magazine end cap with vertical slits in the forend and extended chokes, the Mk 3 is the same as the Mk 2 but the forend has a pair of horizontal oval holes instead of vertical slits. Davyo
Stick a cartridge in the carrier and let the bolt slam back,if it fires it's a mk3
phaedra1106
If you fancy a run out to Durham I'll take a look and tell you, you can compare it to my two (Mk1 & Mk3). As said above, if the shell lifter is a single piece it'll be a Mk1 (about 2006-2008), it'll also have a button on the opposite side to the ejection port to release the bolt when it's locked back.
