Semi auto questions

I suppose it could make a difference whether it's a gas or intertia action. I've shot a right-handed inertia SA from the left shoulder for years.

If in any doubt there would not be any harm in wearing a pair of specs anyway.

I've shot R/H semi autos for years left handed - wear eye protection to keep the dirt & gas from getting in your eyes - get used to the fact that every now and again you'll get a jet of flame out of the ejection port too; not dangerous but can give you a bit of a shock when it happens!

Im left handed, tried a right handed semi and really did not enjoy it.

Try before you buy, I cant see myself wanting to shoot one again...

With suitable eye protection it probably isnt particularly dangerous. A catacylsmic failure after a blocked barrel might be more likely to go in to your face but you are getting down to pretty unlikely things to worry about there.

Just to be different, I shoot a left handed 1187 right handed, to my mind loading is simpler as I just rotate the gun 90 degrees to the right and then the ejection port is upper-most and the load gate is presented to my left hand. For some reason that all feels normal to me! Of course safety glasses are a must (for all shooting to my mind)
