Scully
Crying shame; there's a couple of A5 Brownings in there and a couple of SKS/AK47 types. Shame.

sportsbob
Could i suggest that when anyone has a few minutes to spare they read chapter 25 of the Firearms act, it deals with the surrender of firearms and starts " No obstacle should be placed in the way of a person who wants to surrender firearms or ammunition to the police". It continues into various detail and scenarios but basically anyone (including an RFD) can at anytime hand a gun into the police without there being an amnesty. That would not have the same PR value for the police.

Could you please point me to this section?. My copy of the Act has Chapter 25: 'Supplying firearm to person drunk or insane'.
Newbie to this
I think he means this document https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/518193/Guidance_on_Firearms_Licensing_Law_April_2016_v20.pdf
243ack
I think he means this document https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/518193/Guidance_on_Firearms_Licensing_Law_April_2016_v20.pdf Well done, Sir. Many thanks. It's not actually 'The Act', though, merely 'guidance' and not Law. I suspect that's why Leics. won't accept firearms from RFD's. (See 25.9). silver pigeon69
"Anyone handing in a weapon can ask to remain anonymous, however should officers discover that the firearm has been used in an incident they may wish to contact that person again for help with investigations." If its been handed in anonymously, how would they contact you again???
Breastman
The operative word in that sentence is 'ask'....
