jam1e
My 7 litre 300 bar tank was tested just under 5 years ago. I got 1 last fill before it ran out the day after. He only filled it as although my tank is stamped, 06/17, I had the certificate they issued when they sent it for the last test, which stated i had 1 day left. Having looked at the certificate it stated it was tested to 450 bar! If that's the case, it could obviously stand further pressure, to what degree, who knows?? But why can't the tank be charged to 350 bar, as apposed to 300? I know there has to be a limit under the test, but 300 bar is far from 450 bar?? I do understand that a tank CAN be a 'bomb' in reality. And I've had an offer from someone to fill it for free. Test or no test! I don't trust him full stop. Partly as I've see how he 'works'..... I will never take up that offer. But there must be others who are silly enough to get their 'out of test' tank filled...
countryman
Maybe cheap but. ..... Have you noticed the cost of post and packing. I am tempted , even with postage there is nothing close to the price. Would be nice if we knew some one who actually had one. For home use it will never get over used. Just a case of will it fill anything .

Hi mate, I looked at the daystate branded one and another one at the last show, when i got home i researched the daystate one and found you could buy the exact one without the D name on it cheaper. I dont think personally i would buy chinease one as most the stuff they make is cheap ****. I will watch this thread to see if any one buys one or if there is a uk made alternative at a reasonable price. Bobba
Cylinder test dates, working pressures and test pressures are there for a reason. Personal safety. To give an idea of what can go wrong with exploding dive cylinders there are many clips on YouTube. There is one on guilloting the valve off a cylinder which shows what would happen if a full cylinder fell badly and the pillar valve sheared off. Based on 20 yrs diving experience as an instructor, compressor operator and gas mixer and blender (Nitrox) I would strongly recommend that if you go down the DIY route that you research and read up on compressor operator protocols and understand what you are about. Stay safe. Edited July 10, 2017 by Bobba

figgy
Daystate is a rebranded coltri, good respected make Bauer are the market leaders in breathing air compressors. If you watch Iwa 2017 teds holdover he shows a snowpeak shoebox compressor right near the end of his video from a good Chinese maker that's not on sale yet but should be a good price. The Omega air chargers etc. Are a decent airgun compressor some with auto condensation venting. The cheap Chinese ones your looking at gets very poor reveiws on other forums from paint ballers etc. Edited July 10, 2017 by figgy

ips
Tank is classed as a pressure vessel (because it is) standard test pressure for all pressure vessels is x1.1/2 operating pressure so if your bottle fill is 300 then test will be
defender
I'm lucky the place I fill my cylinder is less than a couple of miles away and only charge £
