Lloyd90
I want to send my seamaster off for a service and have seen this shop near by that apparently do a high standard of work. They claim on their website to be Rolex, Breitling and Omega accredited. Is this a real thing and if so how do you check it out? I am hoping to check they are legit and see what they charge. Link below http://www.watchworks.co.uk/about-us.html Thanks Lloyd

Sussexboy
If you go to watchuseek forums or tz-uk forums and do a search on watchworks and Rocco they seem to think quite highly of them. Couldn't see any recent threads though in my quick look, so still caution required maybe.
Loki
Hi Can only suggest it is done by an Omega (assuming you mean Omega Seamaster) authorised 'partner/affiliate' then you have the full provenance from the manufacturer or their people. Sure likley to be a bit more but if any thing awry they made it/went into it... L
Lloyd90
Watchworks wants £330 (plus £50 refurbishment). Jesus, is that normal?
Cosd
Did a quick search on Omega forum, and seems this chap Rocco at Watchworks has a good reputation. Heres just 3 short snippets, but there was loads on the forum where Watchworks is mentioned: https://omegaforums.net/threads/watch-lapping-anyone-know-a-good-guy.59358/#post-737546 https://omegaforums.net/threads/who-do-you-use-to-service-your-vintage-chronos.50353/#post-614600 https://omegaforums.net/threads/early-rolex-6605-datejust-and-other-vintage-rolex-show-what-you-got.42655/page-3#post-510126
dbob
Watchworks wants £330 (plus £50 refurbishment). Jesus, is that normal? I keep meaning to put my Planet Ocean in for a service at this place. http://www.swisstimeservices.co.uk/ a full service procedure to your Omega Planet Ocean watch, the cost for this procedure is £310 including VAT, price to include: Movement service Case and bracelet refinish New crown New seals, including helium escape valve seals Testing for water resistance 2 year guarantee Comes back as new apparently. I must get it serviced as it hasn't been done for years.
Cosd
Watchworks wants £330 (plus £50 refurbishment). Jesus, is that normal? All depends on which Seamaster, but that doesn't sound too out of the way for a full service. Just a thought, but I would personally only consider the refurbishment if its absolutely necessary for you; Yes it will come back looking like new, but over polishing essentially takes away metal softening edges etc.In time, a well used unpolished watch will usually be preffered to watch enthusiasts, especially if the piece has any significant value. Lloyd90
It was only a few months ago that I bought it. Although it was secondhand, should it not have been serviced then? I might give them a ring and say it's running slow etc, the service says it has a 2 year guarantee so I would expect if they had serviced it then it would be good for a while atleast. walshie
Watchworks are Omega accredited so no worry there, but if you only bought it a while back and it's under warranty, get the shop you bought it from to sort it out.
Spoonbed
Watchworks are highly recommended on TZ, and we're very good when I spoke to them for advise on my omega. Think I'm right in saying they're on Ashley Down Rd?

Secondhand and warranty doesn't mean its been serviced unfortunately. As a rule of thumb, you should always check for service history when purchasing secondhand and if watch is due, then factor that into the cost.Sorry i know that's a little late now you've bought it. How slow is it actually running? Auto or Quartz? What's the model? There is a tolerance for + or - N number of seconds per day which is acceptable, different watches have different tolerances which the manufacturer will tell you is working as designed.
