sishyplops
Just got a second hand 97k literally 50 shots through it , it's mint and is 22, I also have a tx200 again in 22, the 97 has a wire rack moderator on it and it's still louder than the tx and the twang is unreal sounds like a cheap horrible thing, will it bed in or is it best to get it worked on? Thanks guys
Stonepark
Sounds like someone has tinkered with it before you.
washerboy
My 95 was like that straight from the box, cost me to get it tuned. Spring was truly awful
Ultrastu
A lot of hw s are like that new . The spring finishing inside can be terrible . Best look at it sooner than later as they can eat themselves

Pigeon Shredder.
And cronogragh after the fettel just to make sure. I also have a TX200 and that twanged as you say, a good fettel and a good lapping and polishing of the spring ends and adjoining metal parts put it way over the 12lb mark by a good margin, took forever to get it back under but it's now as smooth as silk and very quiet. Salop Matt
First and last thing I would do with it is get it over to Tony Wall and his team at Sandwell Field sports and get either a stage one or stage two tune done on it. I wouldn't waste the money on the drop in kits etc to only end up getting a proper tune up later. I have shot springers with the likes of both Welsh W1LLy and tinbum kits in and not rated any of them, hence the only springer I have ever bought was a Sandwell Field Sports tuned IMP (HW99s).
