saddler
As above...a great powder. My first experience of the 80 & 82 powder was in cheap club .38 Special ammo. Got about 5 or 6 different Eley publications/pamphlets on the 60 & 80 Series powders.

The first Nobel powders that I used were the Nobel 60 and 78 but they did come 60.62,64,78,80,82 .In those days the best nitro powder for me was Greenbat powder made by Greenwood &Batley of Leeds which I still load a few today , This powder is a bulk powder and like black powder is measured in Drms Feltwad

aussie black duck
I was looking for old Nobel powder data and came across this thread. Dragged it open again in case there re any others, like me, who are still finding sealed tins of these old powders. I unearthed a few sealed 5lb/2Kg tins of very old Nobel 60 and Nobel 64 in my shed recently. I think I acquired them from estates around the early 2000's and virtually forgot about them as I had modern ADI powders readily available at the time. Those supplies have recently completely dried up, so I thought to use the N64 for loading 20G target (skeet) shells. I had adequate data for that that was printed on the tins, and also some loads tested in pressure guns. This powder was made on as early as the late '50's, and no later than the late 60's. It is still as good as new and shoots very well (but quite dirty compared with modern powders). Data from the 60 nd 80 seroies series attached pictures By the way, I am very sceptical of the N80 series claimed velocities, and have some independent lab test data that says the velocities are more like those for the 60 series. 🙂 What I dont have, and now need, is some 20 Gauge data for Nobel 84 as I have a couple of Kilo's of that too. If anyone has something, I would be very grateful of they could post it or message me.
enfieldspares
Their velocities with their pistol powders were also somewhat over egged from memory. It was a happy day in the early 1980s when Herco powders started being imported on a consistent frequency into the UK.
