oowee
Anyone know how easy or otherwise it is to import a shotgun from the States to the UK?
casts_by_fly
Basically not possible and certainly not worth it for anything that isn’t worth a lot of money and unique. rick
figgy
There are companies can help you with all the paperwork for export but not cheap from past posts on here.
impala59
Nigh on impossible on a single gun due in part I believe to US home security rules. Even parts from the US are extremely difficult to get with suppliers not willing to ship outside of US and Canada. There are serious penalties for infringements of these rules and our market is so small (relative to their home market) that its not worth anyone’s while to send stuff here (mores the pity imho) I am sure that if you have limitless money then it can be done as there are specialists in this field but as has been said previously it would have to be a pretty special purchase. oowee
Worth an ask but guessed it would not be simple. I am looking for a nice FN auto 5. There looks to be plenty in the States but not so many here.
Gunman
John Foster Had a good one . As he is retired and only dealing part time you could email and ask info@johnfostergunmaker.co.uk. He is away quite bit at this time of year shooting so may be slow in getting back to you . Phone 01740 631110 PS. any in the States will almost certainly still be 5 shot . impala59
Register an interest with Holts they will update you as they become available, and you can view before bidding if you’re not too far from Norfolk
Gu5
Could you get an American friend to bring one over legally then gift it to you once here? (A big assumption being that you know someone over there that wants to come over here with a gun and ‘give’ it to you).
shakin stevens
My mate has just purchased a greener boxlock non ejector 8b from the states . He didn't have any problems , think he paid £1500 tax to import it into the UK. Had no issues at all and it came very fast .
Wingman
Loads here in the UK I have seen everything from rough Auto5s for 80 quid all the way to a mint centenary model for over 2 grand. I have 3 in my collection one of which is a mint pre speed load version from the '30s I can't see why you would need to consider importing one! That is a direct export and would require an export license. rick

Far far more complicated than you have made out and end you (or more likely your mate) up in hot water.
Wingman
Read up on the ITAR rules.
Wb123
Last I looked it was eminently doable but it would have been cheaper to stick a wanted ad up in the uk offering a few times market value for what I wanted. It looked to add about £2k to the cost, perhaps more.
