Morning all

I am due to pick up a new shotgun this evening but hoped for some advice.

Table 2 on my shotgun certificate has no free spaces left on it for the purchase to be logged against. Does anyone know want I need to do in this instance?

Many thanks!

OK, I know that this post is over 5 years old, but does anyone know whether things have changed regarding just adding details of a further purchase under the last box in table 2 of the shotgun certificate?

Surely, providing the necessary notification to the police is done timely (i.e. within 7 days) then I cannot see any problem.

I am, however, awaiting a call back from my FEO on this, for his interpretation.

As far as I'm aware and I haven't been told anything to the contrary it hasn't changed but what they don't want is a scan of someone else's empty table page or a bit of A4 with the boxes drawn on it. Squeeze it in and send it off. I'd take photo of it too. Mistakes are made and guns are left off.

I’ve just had an email back from Kent police asking me to send in my certificate and they will issue a replacement with empty space in table 2. I’m a bit concerned on the turn round time of this, although I’ve always had really good and prompt service from them in the past, so here’s hoping.

Hopefully they'll turn it around quick.

I know someone who moved house and sent in his certificate for the address change. He doesn't keep his guns at home so you'd think it would be straight forward. 3 weeks later his 1st shoot date came around and still no certificate from the Met. He couldn't draw his gun from storage so a mate of his had to lend him one on the day.

I applied on line to Northants Police on 2nd September for a replacement SGC to be issued as table 2 is full. Had a follow up request asking for a copy of my certificate on 16th September which I scanned and emailed back by return.

I had an interview with my FEO on 15th October for the renewal of my SGC that expires on 12th March 2025, which seems remarkably early but I got the renewal paperwork at the end of September. I mentioned I hadn't had the outstanding replacement and she said she'd chase it up when back in the office.

Given that it's now two months barring one day without any further communication, I emailed my FEO earlier this morning asking for an update on the replacement or whether the renewal of the certificate would supercede it.

The post has just been delivered and my replacement certificate with the 2025 expiry date was amongst it.

However, the issue date on it and the covering letter is 20th September, but the envelope is franked 29th October.

I wonder whose desk this has been sitting on for over a month?
