Im pretty sure both you and oowee have both bragged about how much you are going to make out of the disaster of Brexit (when we actually leave)

Can't speak for oowee but please indicate where I have made any such brags, I may have said if it all goes to pooh then I could get a job in another country but that's hardly bragging?

To be fair , making money out of peoples 'misfortune' is all fair in love and war, Mr soros does it all the time, it gives him the money and leverage to interfere in other countries business , often to their detriment, out of chaos ,as he says in his books.

So really , its a bit hypocritical to rubbish someones opinion, just because they eye up an earner out of it.

See above, come up with the above evidence and I'll accept the accusation of being a hypocrite!?
Is the opinion 'on the money' or is it rubbish ?

It's an opinion.

I don't think that the man is a supporter of murderers of any kind there needs to be pragmatic dialogue in order to put a stop to mindless killing. When it comes to murdering innocent people the IRA, Hamas, Hezbollah are amateurs compared to the Saudi's , Chinese, Israelis etc, who do it on an industrial scale and we still seem able to talk to them, or maybe it's just money talking.

Just so we are crystal clear, do you say that Corbyn does not support the IRA, Hamas or Hezbollah? It doesn't matter what other nations are doing in this context, we just need to be clear what Corbyn's stance is. If he doesn't support them, why does he keep turning up at their funerals and then denying it?

Are you sure about that? The author of that article is a well known Marxist who writes plenty of books. here's the first few lines from Wikipedia

Richard Seymour (born 1977) is a Northern Irish Marxist writer and broadcaster, activist and owner of the blog Lenin's Tomb. He is the author of books such as The Meaning of David Cameron (2010), Unhitched (2013), Against Austerity (2014) and Corbyn: The Strange Rebirth of Radical Politics (2016). Seymour was born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland to a Protestant family,[1] and currently lives in London. A former member of the Socialist Workers Party,[2] he left the organisation in March 2013. He completed his PhD in sociology at the London School of Economicsunder the supervision of Paul Gilroy.[3] In the past he has written for publications such as The Guardian and Jacobin.

so hardly writing a factual account without any bias is he. To quote that article as some form of view point from America given its written by a uk citizen from northern Ireland and to say he's not making any money from it when that's excatly how is making money. Is quite extraordinary to say the least.

careful what you take as gospel.

The clue is in the URL.

I skimmed over it to be honest, until I got this vision of the author , foaming at the mouth and growling to himself, like a dog thats just waiting for the attack command 😲

You read more of it than me then. Honestly though your vivid imagination is quite a talent (and very insightful).

Surely it does not come as a revelation that Marcus J Ball has an agenda but it does not have a direct bearing on whether or not BoJo the clown acted inappropriately or not. If Mr Ball has done wrong then he should be held to account but it's a separate issue to BoJos antics.

The ny times may well have published it but the author is British. It says his name nice and clearly. You cant miss it.

So not a view from anywhere other than here and from a Marxist to boot. And he makes money by writing books and articles for newspapers. Marxist articles. He even owns/runs a site called lenin somethig or other. Again you cant miss it as its on his twitter. I'd fall of my chair if he had written an article that said anything different. Given some of what he has written it was possibly even reserved.

Hardly an Oracle of American unbiased non profiteering opinion is he? Look a little more next time before quoting him.

I don't need to justify the use of the antics, if in any doubt look up it's definition and if you don't agree that his general buffoonery are antics then we have a difference of opinion.

Do you want to rephrase your second point?

On this I agree , he is a bit of a buffoon. I do think it's a bit of a stretch to make him a criminal though. If they do we better build a few more prisons as there's 600 odd mps that will be up on similar charges pretty quickly and probably paid for by various states with vested interests in crippling the UK government whichever its form happens to be.

It was an alternative opinion, one you don't appear to like.

Just to be clear, is your last statement a suggestion or instruction?

I agree with all of that.

Take it as a helpful hint. Unless you want to draw offence where none is ment and in that case you can take it any which way you like.

Certainly no offence. Was just clarifying. If you'd intended it as an instruction I would have just laughed to be honest.

What worries me and many outside the UK like me, is what will happen if you are forced to Remain. You have one foot in the EU and one in the UK and they certainly won’t allow that to continue if you crawl back with your tail between your legs.

You will certainly not be allowed to continue with your pick-a-mix of EU regulations like now. You will be punished and made an example of. I don’t think many of you realise just how small the EU’s impact on your daily lives is at the moment. From shop hours to what you can buy in Abdul’s corner shop. What you can buy in Boots without a prescription. Protection of the yuman rights of criminals. You don’t have any protection unless you are either a politician or a criminal (often the same thing!) or a famous lefty (Sting who uses migrant labour in Italy comes to mind). Workers rights? Don’t make me laugh!

But the Pound is what really sets you apart from us slaves. The Pound is why so many small people like me from all over the EU and all over the world invest in the UK. It is safe. The Euro is not.  It is why you have the massive investment from the Russian mafia and why you have the massive investment from the Arabian countries. Do you think that is going to continue if you lose the Pound? And you WILL lose the Pound . You will be forced into that because it is the first thing that sets you apart from us. The first thing that allows you to be an individual country, to have a national identity.

The Remainers are worried about (probably temporarily) losing a few businesses. But if you do remain, given the almost certain severe punishment awaiting you, you are probably going to lose a lot more investment that if you Brexited.

Much sense and intuition in these words. :good:

Looks like Boris could be in a bit of a pickle over his £350M EU claims. I'm confident that, regardless of individual persuasion on Brexit all good democrats and supporters of justice will be pleased to see a politician being held to account in misleading the public...

Sorry to disapoint you, but it now seems that the figure of £350 million came from a bulletin issued by the Office for National Statistics! And just to rub salt in your wound, there is now a crowd funding exercise to take George Osborne and pals to court for lying during the Project Fear camapaign  run by Remain!

The smarmy man behind the case to prosecute Boris Johnson has been saying his case is not about stopping Brexit, just about stopping ‘lying in politics’. That will come as news to the original backers of Marcus J. Ball’s first (now deleted) crowdfunder which Guido can reveal was set up from “within a Facebook group called The 48%” in order to reverse the result of the referendum. Quelle surprise…

“Once these prosecutions have established that politicians did indeed lie to voters our next step will be to take other action to prevent Brexit. This may be in the form of a judicial review… We will also work to reverse Brexit and ensure our membership of the European Union is not lost”

After consulting his barristers, Ball deleted his original blogs, seemingly to hide his original intentions and then launched a new site claiming that he was “motivated by a desire to challenge the national problem of lying in UK politics.” In late 2018 a new ‘Brexit Justice Prosecution’ page was launched, a new financial target established, and new Twitter and Facebook profiles were set up as old ones are deleted. The old ‘Brexit Justice’ Page now reroutes to the new page, with all references to Ball’s political views removed. Crafty.

What started as an attempt to prosecute the Leave campaign turned into a campaign against the man who led it, which if successful would have hugely destructive consequences over our democracy, enforcing government regulation of political speech. A source close to Boris told Guido that:

“The claimant has openly admitted that his plan is to overturn the referendum via a legal challenge and he clearly intends to try and undermine the one man who can truly deliver Brexit. The decision to issue a summons is extraordinary, and flies in the face of hundreds of years of British democratic tradition.”

Boris has become the latest in a long line of Brexit champions who the establishment and dodgy bandwagon hoppers are trying to defeat in the courts. They know they can’t defeat Brexit though legitimate democratic processes…

Lovable rogue he may be (and probably the best ever presenter of Have I Got News for You!) but he has to face the music. Boris is in love with himself and seems to treat politics as a game, forgetting its people's lives and livelihoods at stake. Matters not to me who leads the Tories next, as I won't be voting for them, irrelevant of what the next leader promises. But a charlatan such as Boris must not be allowed to succeed. And as for Jezza - lord help us...……...

I think you will find that the figure involved was taken from an ONS document! That is a Crown Agency, and as such,  normally taken to be accurate! What about all the lies Project Fear polticians came out with?

We can certainly agree on that.

Many more should be put before the courts for testing.

6,085,174 people signed the petition to revoke article 50.

5,248,533 people voted for the Brexit Party.

Clearly the will of the people must be followed as long as it fits with the Brexit agenda.

The petition, as you know, was seriously hacked! Guido Fawkes proved that, with less than a couple of hundred pounds spent on a couple of your computer whizz kids, several thousand false names could be added in just a couple of hours!  Including Vladimir Putin,s!  Investigations are ongoing, but it is believed that less than half of the so-called votes were genuine, and that figure was only reached due to constant mention of it on the BBC and Channel 4 !

On 30/05/2019 at 09:17, Gordon R said:

Masterful use of valid statistics. Adding weight to the Article 50 petition is the fact that the signatories included Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse.

and Vladimir Putin! It was a nasty, deceitful shambles, egged on by the BBC !

TIGHTCHOKE - Marcus J Ball has a rather colourful history. After saying those on the remain campaign were working for free, it appears he has suddenly awarded himself a salary of £24k out of the crowdfunding. I wonder if any of the subscribers feels like they were mugged? If Ball ever makes it onto the witness stand, I suspect he will get shredded.

More interesting is that the first Barrister he approached turned the case down. A renowned legal expert has poked holes in the legal case against Boris. The likely outcome is that CPS take over the private prosecution and drop it. Marcus Ball and his backers might pay for their own brief, but courts, judges and all the associated costs come from the taxpayer.

The ONS, a Crown Agency, and therefore NOT owned by the government of the day, published the £350 million figure in one of their documents, which is where Boris picked it up! His QC will shred his opponents in court!

Reduced to taking out smear adverts in the local paper.

Unfortunately for them, someone at the paper tipped the BP off.
Within an hour they drafted up a counter ad to appear in the same edition 😄

Saw it on Guido.....brilliant! Time to smear them back! Time to take the gloves off................

And in years to come there could well be a version of this along the lines of In 2016 there were grown adults who actually believed the lies told to them by a false prophet who went by the name of Far-age and these people, unable to read (think) for themselves took what they were told as gospel, proceeded to burn down the library.

Here's another viewpoint from America:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/28/opinion/nigel-farage-brexit.html

This time not someone looking to make money out of our misfortune...

and almost as many grown adults believed the lies that the Anti-Christ, Osborne, and his band of fallen angels told them, to persuade them to stay in Hell.....you know the ones, 500,000 unemployed within weeks of a succesful Leave vote, the £ IMMEDIATELY falling to parity with the $ and the Euro, Most "skilled workers" (an oxy-moron!) from the EU returning home,  virtually ALL the banks leaving the City...etc etc etc

New York Times? Don,t make me laugh! Anti-Trump rhetoric, definitely NOT pro-British!
