holloway
A question for the Winchester collectors out there.Has anyone ever seen a standard Winchester 23 super or pigeon grade with anything other than the standard engraving .?
Scully
Can’t say I’ve noticed. The only one I’ve seen with anything other than standard engraving, wasn’t a standard 23.
vmaxphil
Wasn't a dimond grade made at one time? Or am I dreaming

holloway
After investigation it seems the gun I have been looking at is a European version with light scroll engraving and Winchester in a banner .narrow English type forend instead of the usual beaver tail one .It has the standard pistol type grip .sadly according to the dealer it only has 70mm chambers ,which I must admit I have never heard of in a 23 (could he have made a mistake?) and standard 28 ins barrels with a single trigger as standard .An interesting and unusual Winchester . TIGHTCHOKE
The Beaver Tail forend was one of the best features!

London Best
Winchester 23. The side by side that feels like an over/under. IMO as a SxS man.

Yes completely agree, it was and is the only SxS that feels like an O/U.

Former keeper in our syndicate has one, and the cardboard box it originally arrived in! He couldn’t believe it when I told him how much good ones were going for these day’s. I’ve been given first dibs, which I often remind him of, but I don’t think he has a mind to sell.
