Walker570
We have witnessed a big number of red admirals this year. Seems it has been a good season for them. This one was taking a rest rom feasting on the over ripe falling pears on the floor. I think we sometimes forget we have some fantastic coloured butterflies. Mice!
Same up here, plenty about, but we had a great big dragon fly which I think was a Southern Hawker in the garden last week, really impressive insect.
sitsinhedges
I'm building a house near Towcester. There are loads of butterflies but we keep finding wings with no body and it seems that something is eating them in their resting spots but we can't work out what. There are bats around but would they go around picking them off the walls where they settle?

JohnfromUK
I would say probably less than usual here this year. Few about, but not plentiful - and that applies to all butterflies. We saw a lot in the early hot spell, but rather limited since.
