Rat rifle + slugs

Hi all, I would like to spend as little as needed for a ratting rifle, what would be a weapon of choice and what slugs? Thanks lads

A used meteor (check for any movement side to side on the barrel) and RWS Hobby in .22 flavour should provide you with plenty of fun for very little outlay............OMG - this is the first time in near 60 years that I've recommended a BSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But price is the driving force.

As above or a early supersport. Some might say the hatsan range, I had one and couldn't hold a 2'' group at 25 yards.

rats often move when you fire if you need a follow up shot with a meteor by time you cock it dig a pellet out load rat will be long gone pcp with a mag on flick the bolt fire best tool to shoot any animal

While I agree a pcp is the best tool for the job, springers accounted for every species long before a pcp came along and still do. 

Pellets, stick to jsb brand, they seem to work alright in most guns due to the size and weight variables they produce

Have to agree .find a nice sh .quality rifle 

So a bsa , webley or weirauch  .22 or. 177 

I prefer .177 and as Bruno said rws hobbys and old Roland will be in the mire .

With or without a scope .

Scopeless up to around 15 /20 yds if your eyes are good .
