The Heron
I decided to set up a repeat prescription while I was in my local chemist on enquiry the assistant gave me a leaflet for something called echo that you have to set up online, now this requires you to download there app fill in several personal details and also to scan the bar code on the medicines that you need I did this with out any problems but can not help wondering about people who are not tech savvy or do not have the device's to do this when I asked the assistant if I could register in the chemist she said no it had got to be done online. The same place it comes from when you collect it from the chemist.
amateur
My gp has an appointment and repeat prescription service called ( helpfully) "MyGP". This works very well. It's not automatic, in that I have to log on to it and request my repeat items every time, but I am happy with that as my requirements vary from prescription to prescription. I allow 4 working days for them to process it and it is at my local chemists normally the day before. I could never rely on Boots, however, to have it ready, although I was using the same system
Bigbob
We just call the surgery the receptionist asks which chemists you want your repeat prescription delivered to and you go and get it no need to give details for a app etc
Imperfection
I use Echo and recommend them. I order my medication using the phone app and its delivered three days later. Simple as! I do pre-pay my prescription because i take quite a number every day as i suffered a stroke last year so the money saving is huge.
AVB
I suffer with occasional heartburn/acid reflux and was prescribed Omeprazole which works well and I only need a few doses. Anyway I had run out and tried to order more from GP. They said that they didn’t do repeat prescriptions over the phone and could only accept requests via the ‘NHS app”. When I asked what app was that she said just search for it! I ended up ordering via one of the on-line doctors for less than the NHS prescription cost. Another example of our wonderful NHS.
