AVB
I have recently acquired a PCP and wondering whether to get a tank for ease of filling. I have two scuba shops relatively close to me and wondered whether people usually use scuba shops for filling bottles or whether you have to go to gun shops to do so. I would ask the shops but of course they are closed at the moment. Thanks
Dave at kelton
Yep can use scuba shops. I used to dive so had tanks anyway but don’t forget they have to be tested every few years and you need to factor that cost in too!
old'un
Yep, scuba shops will fill your bottle for you, some gun shops do have their own compressor for filling but not many, the only faff thing about a bottle is getting it tested every five years, you could always get a hand pump to keep it topped up (the gun not the bottle)
Ttfjlc
A tank is a worthwhile consideration and yes scuba shops are a viable option for you, look to get a 300 bar cylinder rather than a 232 bar for more fills for your money, also make sure its a surface only setup, these have a 5 year test compared to a 2.5 year test for a diving setup. strimmer_13
Scuba shop I use. A tanks easier and only used when I can't be ***** pumping in the garage. I only get my 3ltr tank filled about twice a year which shows how often I use it. Might not get it tested and stuck with a pump.
AVB
Cheers. I’ve got a pump in order which I will use until I buy a tank and the shops open for filling. What does the certification comprise of? Is it a separate document or some sort of sticker on the tank itself?
bruno22rf
Amazon are doing 3 stage pumps for around £15 - just a heads up.
Chaz25
I like to pump! 15 min work out for a shed load of shots from a 490cc bottle, its as in house a system as you could get, and not a lot to carry if needed.
