wildfowler.250
Does anyone know the rough costs and protocols for reblueing,(spelling?) a gun? Is it a case of just posting the barrels with no RFD required? I assume that most people you will be sending the barrels to will be an RFD anyway but it may make things cheaper at one end. Essentially I’ve seen a project gun which looks to have decent wood and a decent action. I’m just trying to work out the overall costs to get the gun looking nice,(fairly grey looking barrels) are worth it or just daft. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ditchman
to me re-blueing a gun is a dark art.......some of the examples i have seen on PW of london blue have been stunning... and i have also seen really nice jobs of blacking using off the shelf kits. Gordon R
Another vote for Dan (barrelblacker) - stunning work. I have re-blued acouple of oldish guns, with off the shelf kits. Looked fine when done, but the finish wasn't very durable and soon look less pristine. I wouldn't do another.
Walker570
Yes cold blue is ok for touching up snall patches or small items but if a jobs worth doing then have it done properly.

I’ve seen this page but have no personal experience of them? https://www.gunrestoration.co.uk Cheers!

Just had two sets of barrels back from him this morning. Excellent work. No RFD required just post your barrels and wait. 👍
