bostonmick
So mr sunak decides to put us all in debt by way of this £200 rebate on our electricity bills that we will pay back over the next few years. And with this there is no option to refuse this.i do not want or need this as i am more capable of running my own finances that a government minister who quite honestly has no idea how the general public live.martin lewis made a claim that the payback on this enforced loan could be as much as £800 now i dont know how much truth there is in that claim but i do know i do not want sunak putting me into debt as i have never had this in my life i live within my means which is something else our politicians do not understand

simonm
Not so much a loan as deferred taxation!
Fisheruk
Just like the Lottery, voluntary taxation.
Newbie to this
Link to the public consultation, if anyone is interested. https://beisgovuk.citizenspace.com/ccp/energy-bills-support-scheme/
harkom
Seems similar government manoeuvre to the Green Energy part of electricity bills? Not at all a voluntary payment, just another price hike.
bluesj
I do know one person that thinks its a good idea. We were talking about it the other day and it turns out he will be around to get the £200 but won't be around to pay it back as he's off back to Oz! 😁 Edited April 15, 2022 by bluesj
