paul1966
After recommendation's for accommodation that's close to the seafront, thinking of taking the family for a night or two when the illuminations are on.
Dave at kelton
Look at any of the small guesthouses and avoid the hotels. You will get great personal service and avoid the crowded restaurants. We did a few days at Norbreck Castle a few years ago with the grandchildren and it was truly awful. take a load of two pence and let them loose on the arcades if the weather is bad. Tower and circus brilliant.

Mice!
We are 30 - 40 mins away and I just don't se the appeal of the illuminations, we did it a few years back and I was far from impressed, but if you're going for the pleasure Beach/ zoo and there anyway then fair enough. discobob
See about a Caravan?? We used to get the Sun Deals and take the kids up there for a weekend just before they finish although you had to be extremely lucky with the weather. There are tram passes that you can buy. For me it was a tradition thing - My Grandparents used to have a Caravan at the Calor Gran (?) in Fleetwood and I would be up there several times a year growing up - this was back when they had gas mantles for lighting
