harrycatcat1
I made this today and yes I know it is burnt on the top and a fraction undercooked under the sausages, do you put the sausages in first or after the mixture π€ Oh and my sort of onion gravy π πΒ Β
chrisjpainter
I go for sausages in first, then pour the batter in around.

amateur
My mother also used came up with the occasional variation of frying a chopped onion and sage leaves with the sausages before adding the batter. Very tasty

woods&wurz
The BBC food guide, on the net have a cracking recipe. If you can make the batter and leave it to stand for a hour or so before you pour it in it works a treat. Precook the sausages for around 15 min, pour it in and don't open the door until 25-30 minutes later when it's done (if you do you'll lose the heat from the oven and it'll collapse).
