TIGHTCHOKE
I spent a week in Gloucestershire photographing the aircraft at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Here are some of the shots I managed to get in amongst the lousy weather Italian Harrier AV-8B Finnish F18 Finnish F18 RAF F35 Greek F4 Phantom German Eurofighter Belgian F16 French Rafale Martin Bakers Meteor - used to test and develop aircarft ejection seats. Polish Su22 German Tornado HHA Hawker Hunter, ex military used by a civilian firm to conduct trials and training for the military. Italian Tornado Italian Tornado Swedish Grippens Swedish Saab, an old trainer kept for displays. Two Swedish Saabs, again kep for heritage reasons. The swedes are very good at preserving their aviation history. Photographic reconnaissance Spitfire with the big Griffon engine. Owned and displayed by Rolls Royce. New-build Me262, a rare bird from Germany. US F15 Eagle from Lakenheath Another US F15 in commemorative colours. Rob85
Lucky duck seeing the Me262, how did it sound in comparison to the other jets... I know the Tonka on full chat is a noisy boy!
TIGHTCHOKE
To be perfectly honest the Me262 was a bit of a disappointment. Flown so gently, it was being treated like an original and not a new build. When you consider that in 1944, when the real thing joined battle, it's speed was the biggest NEW thing. Each time it went up we hoped for a fast pass, but it never happened.

sutty2006
Excellent photos sir. I do miss a good air show. Ok the 262 was a disappointment but it’s like seeing tiger 131 at tank fest. It only comes out to do a slow lap then gets parked up. Once it’s broke, it’s broke, and it’s the only one that’s working. 👍

I caught a documentary, recently, where they mentioned that a small number of Me262 (3/4), shot done 25 B17's in a single missile engagement. The remaining B17's broke off and returned to base.
