simcgunner
Started well.I Was up in the mountains near the Canadian border looking for Ruffed grouse and woodcock. Things were going well. I was moving a lot of birds. when a tumble into a hidden hole ended my trip prematurely. A broken wrist finishes my shooting year.
TIGHTCHOKE
Bad luck. I presume you were NOT out on your own?
marsh man
There is never a good time for these sort of things to happen and when they happen at the beginning of your shooting season then it couldn't had been at a worse time , but hopefully you might be able to work your dog and get a friend to do the shooting , at least your dog will still be having a good time . All the best MM

simcgunner
like the old fool I am I was alone miles away from camp. no phone service, and two hours drive to nearest hospital. They patched me up to head home and two days drive back home. worst part was telling the wife. I had the wrist set last night at the local military hospital She is not happy. I have an appointment with a hand specialist this week.
Scully
That’s really unlucky and a shame, but lucky in the aspect you’re on the mend and will be fit for next season. 👍
oowee
That's bad luck but as Scully says at least you will be fixed for next season. I had my sailing season messed up with hospital visits (ok now) worse thing was loosing out on the year. As you get older making each one count becomes even more important.
