Bad start to 2024

Well then, we just have to hope that somebody will want to take on a shooting ground that has just been vacated at the crunch point due to a change in the terms.

Lets see what happens across te board when lead is banned and steel/eco wads are the only shells available at hugely inflated prices. 

 

Small informal clubs will be decimated never mind full blown grounds.

There is no logical reason why there should be much price difference if manutactures only produce steel instead of lead. As shooters we will all be in the same boat and no doubt grounds and targets will be adjusted to steel cartridges. However , when anything changes it is always a convenient excuse to increase margins. If manufactures want to be greedy, then as they say, they could be killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

As long as its with steel, nobody will care  !

Kegworth ran its first Fiber Wad shoot of the year today, Cpsa is showing only 32 entries.  Typically 100 would be seen. This is very bad news.

I’ve only shot fibre wads carts for years at all the shoots I go to. Can’t see a difference in breaks.

I shot fiber today, its not about the shells its about wad predjudice percieved or otherwise.

Think the forecast storm may have put many off that one !

Certainties- There was weather, there was a wad restriction and Kegworth was the only CPSA reg ground in the midlands exercising such- Orston 102.

69 less entries than 7th Jan at Orston though .........

I shoot fibre but prefer plastic as can shoot 8 instead of 7.5,s ( more pellets). And not be concerned about running out of range on a sporting layout.

if plastic is not allowed just switch to fiber and adjust my shooting.
