JohnfromUK
I have never seen a shrike. On avian matter, I heard my first curlew calls of this year/season yesterday.
London Best
I have only ever seen one Red Backed Shrike in my life. Never seen a Crossbill.
JKD
I've spent most of my life, so far, outside in all different areas and locations, fishing, shooting and just time out in the countryside,,,, never seen a shrike, but I'm sure I would have if I was in the right area. There are lots of other UK avian species that I've not seen,,,, it all comes down to not being in the areas that they frequent 🙈🙂

JDog
On a similar note, I saw this images of a Red Tailed Shrike with a Goldcrest it had just killed. This has to be one of the most opportune wildlife shots taken in the UK. Edited February 29 by JDog
ditchman
gives you an idea of its size....which is smaller than a wren i aleays had goldcrests in my garden..as we had a lot of conifers....i first realised we had "crests"...as they used to defercate on the window ledge.opposite a large conifer..a small white splodge about 6mm across.....
