I have 

I saw in the podcast about shooting deer with copper instead of lead so it can safely enter the food chain 

could you please tell us if it’s a requirement to shoot non lead bullets on the land held by Basc for shooting deer or is it voluntary 

also I’m aware that you should have a shotgun proof for HP steel do you need any extra proof test for your rifle and or moderator for shooting the copper bullets

What are you hoping for with comments like "start the countdown" and "Well if the BASC representatives can't take it"? Trolling plain and simple. And it's far from the first time. Please add something of substance and I would be happy to help. But I am calling you out on this.

I took Scolopax to task because he mistakenly thought you were David from BASC who gave up after taking flak for a long time.

 

I posted "Start the Countdown" as I was waiting for the thread to get shut down like the other one was. At least it is still going and Members are able to post questions and comments.

 

I must say I did enjoy the England Ladies Rugby Team stuffing the French.

Thank you for the reply however in my world instead of passing the buck to another member of staff 

the correct answer or response is 

sorry I don’t know or have the relevant information available at the moment but I will find out and get back to you as soon as I know the answer 

all my staff are briefed on this it’s part of learning the skills of the job along with the team building process 

it also gives the client confidence that the staff members are working together and that they are trying to get the issues resolved along with broadening their understanding and knowledge 

just my view on it

"DavidBASC" was David Ilsley, Head of Sales and Marketing. He retired about a year ago after thirty odd years with BASC.

A quick look online shows no mention of non-lead ammunition at the Lancashire or Hampshire sites. Arran (not currently available) may well be different by now as it is a FLS lease, and they are going lead free - most FLS venison goes into the trade of course.

My old Bristol 12b club had great support from BASC for setting up constitution and rules system. Our view was if you believe in the sport you need someone to fight your corner with govt and its agencies. Bringing new blood into the sport is critical as I look around at a largely old age group of participants.

The BASC shotgun coaching line

… will be open to everyone for one-to-one lessons or experiences with a BASC coach.

Enjoy a lesson with a qualified coach and learn about eye dominance, safe gun handling, correct stance, gun fit, gun mount and how to hit a moving target. The fee includes the cost of cartridges, clay targets, eye and ear protection, and the loan of a shotgun and shooting vest.

If you have your own shotgun with you at the fair and you are experiencing problems with gun fit, please do come and chat with our coaches.

• 16-year-olds and under: £10 for BASC members; £15 for non-members.
• Adults: £15 for members; £20 for non-members.

Try sustainable ammunition

Experience shooting with steel shot under the supervision of a qualified BASC shotgun coach. Experts will be on hand to answer questions. Open to anyone over the age of 16; ten shots for £10.

BASC Shotgun Safe Shot

The Safe Shot assessment was designed with the knowledgeable live quarry shooter in mind. Since the scheme launched at the CLA Game Fair in 1998, many people have taken the award and proudly wear their bronze Safe Shot pin on their shooting kit.

To be awarded the Safe Shot badge, you must complete:

• a short multiple-choice question paper on safety;
• an empty gun handling section, including crossing an obstacle; and
• prove that you can load and fire the gun safely at a clay target from a shooting cage.

The Safe Shot assessment costs just £30 and takes 20 minutes of your time.

The BASC air rifle range

A ‘have a go’ shooting opportunity is open to everyone, with tuition from BASC coaches using some of the latest BSA air rifles. £3 for ten shots.
