marsh man
At the moment I am using my old lap top which is well past the sell by date and only used now in emergency . My new(ish) one developed a problem this morning , the little arrow head don't show when you click the touchpad , so when you put your pass word in you cannot click it , I can get the arrow head showing if I use the mouse but again the touchpad don't click it , so is there a easy way out , or is it pass it's best . If you have any ideas then can you tell me in very simple terms PLEASE

Minky
is the laptop a windows unit.? probably down in settings under display pointer. I haven't used windows for some years now so not sure. I think that the mouse can be controlled from the keyboard.
hedge
Newer laptops have built in batteries you can't access. Have you tried to soft reboot by holding the power button down for a few seconds and then it will restart. See if that clears the problem. Minky
How do I turn my cursor back on Windows 10? On the Devices screen, select Mouse in the left-hand column. Under Related settings in the right-hand panel, click Additional mouse options. In the Mouse Properties window, click the Pointer Options tab, and look under Visibility. Check the box next to Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key. Thus you may try the following combinations to make your disappearing cursor back to visible in Windows 10: Fn + F3/ Fn + F5/ Fn + F9/ Fn + F11. If using the Fn keys to retrieve the missing cursor doesn't work for bringing the mouse cursor back, there could be some errors with your mouse driver in Windows

ShootingEgg
Sounds like you have a faulty palm rest. How old is the unit?
Cosmicblue
Press the Windows and the X keys together. Gives you a menu of options - near the bottom is Shut Down or Sign Out - you can use the cursor keys (mouse pointer not needed) to move between fields and the Enter key to execute the task.
