Watch Hill
For any of you guys interested, I just thought I would share an update on the situation. We have now fully transitioned to our own "quiet" Cartridges. This has been met with a few mixed emotions but generally everyone is happy to use them as they appreciate our dilemma. Some of our more experienced Shooters find them slower than other carts. And some guys say they wont cycle through Semi autos. However most Semi auto users have been able to take the time and set up their guns so they do cycle no problem. We are smashing clays at 50yds plus with them and a guy sent me a picture of a heap of 63 crows killed with our carts using 3/8th choke over a barley field. We have kept the cost of the carts as low as we could at £7.50 a box or £72 a slab. We started using them Mid April and I have just placed an order for another pallet load as we are nearly out. I was very sceptical that they would work......how can a cartridge be "quiet"??? Well, I set my son off with a box of 25 normal carts while I went 250m away with a noise meter. And yes it picked up the carts 65 to 80db recorded. Game Bore state these carts cant be picked up on a noise meter after 300m, so I set him off with our "quiet" carts and went to the same location as before. The difference was Unbelievable!! The noise meter just sat still only moving with bird noise and a guy in the village chain sawing logs. Yes you could hear shooting but it sounded like it was miles! so to say I was pleased is an understatement. The Icing on the cake for all our troubles was a text message from the complainant to say him and his wife had spent a day in the garden while our shoot was going on and the noise difference was huge, thankyou. He has also spoken with the investigation team and said he is happy for what we have done. They intern appreciate our resolving the matter, and at this moment no further action will be taken. If anyone ever finds themselves in the same situation, I do recommend working together with all parties amicably to reach the best outcome. Luckily our complainant was user friendly and happy to give me time to make a difference and find out a best solution. No body likes to be complained about, or told things have to change, I certainly did not. But by talking and listening to all parties we have now made a future proof solution. I would like to say a massive than you to Gamebore, without their help I just don't know what we could have done to comply. All the best Allister and all at Watch Hill Shooting Ground
jall25
Good to hear ! Excuse the pun May i ask what cartridges they are please ? We shoot a lot of crows - usually at very very anti social hours
rbrowning2
Positive outcome for all well done, just not sure how you will get on if they ban lead, given steel need speed to kill, so fingers crossed we can continue with lead for clays.
TIGHTCHOKE
Well done Allister and Team It is good to "hear" that changes can be made to sort these problems out. Keep up the great work.
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, Interesting and thanks for posting, Another what Gamebore cartridge ??, £72 for 250 sounds a good price and i presume cheaper if you buy 1000 ? I can only find Gamebore Evo but at a premium cost, Ah have just looked back on a post Scully made about your clay club and your own Watch Hill cartridges, I am sure there would be many PW members interested if Gamebore made these available to the wider shooting community Edited June 22 by oldypigeonpopper
HantsRob
I am going the opposite way and presume no discount for a thou, as you're already giving people the best discount but per slab as you are enforcing it for the site? That really is a great story and it's awesome to hear a good outcome! Bravo to all.

Only available after jumping through many hoops and to sporting grounds Only not on the market. 3 hours ago, HantsRob said: I am going the opposite way and presume no discount for a thou, as you're already giving people the best discount but per slab as you are enforcing it for the site? Watch Hill
Thanks for the positive replies. Its been a very worrying time for us all. I hope lead ban won't affect us but I'm sure gamebore will work out any power issues.

enfieldspares
I would imagine that the cartridges are lower velocity? So will in theory and in practice pattern tighter than cartridges of the same shot load and shot size in standard or high velocity equivalent loads? But are they subsonic live quarry loads rebranded with smaller shot or something different? https://www.justcartridges.com/product/evo-low-noise-12ga-2/ Edited June 22 by enfieldspares

Im out on the crows in the morning at 4am - We decoy them in and 25 yards is a "long" shot - but we have issues with the neighbours and perhaps rightly so - They also complain about the crows ! Would we be able to buy some from the OP i wonder ? @Watch Hill

oldypigeonpopper
Hello, From Scullys post on here in March there is a photo on these cartridges, just says 28g 7.5 Fibre wad and Watch Hill on the green label, if they were £72 for 250 buying a 1000 even a £288 and a low noise cartridge surely Gamebore would find a good market Edited June 22 by oldypigeonpopper
