I find weather forecasting to remarkably accurate.

I really do not see people’s issue with it.

Its certainly very accurate now. The issue we have is trying to understand what is likely to happen on the edges of systems. We use UKMO models on predict wind and Metcheck for forecast. Two weeks ago we went from Jersey to Sark and anchored. Only to find the wind shifting 90 deg overnight. Instead of being in shelter we were being blown on shore. Little sleep for the night and in the morning could not take dog ashore. Had to run to Guernsey.

The South west Coast is currently on the edge of low and high pressure systems and very unpredictable.
