Newly ish tarmacked drive, oil stain removal.

Recommended Posts

Cover all the tarmac with old oil and it will blend in 👍😆

Basically, it's ruined, but you could chop out the stained area and re-tarmac, then chuck some fine sweepings on the new bit,,,, to blend it in 🙃

Salt might bring it out, but you will need an awful lot of it.

Hot water and washing up liquid is next.

But, I reckon it's beyond it and he's ****** your drive.

Mmmm I thought so 🙄🙄

Try as already said with the washing up liquid first and then tar varnish over the stain , not saying it will work but you have very little to lose .

Thank you 👍👍

Park a Land Rover on it, then it won't be so noticeable amongst all the other oil stains!

Or try cement powder, that works quite well at drawing the oil up, you'll have to brush it in well, leave it at least a couple of hours, sweep it up and reapply.

Might take a few attempts.

Then finish with washing up liquid.

Could be a nice little job for the television program , The Repair Shop .

Whatever you do Harry it is going to be noticeable compared with the existing tarmac , have you looked on You Tube for any help ?     MM

Shame he didn't park the damned thing over the manhole cover.......................................:cool1:

Another solution is to buy a second hand manhole cover and frame and cut the damage tarmac out and replace it with the dummy manhole , or put a Pay and Display machine over oil stains ,  the thread is getting less serious now that all options have been exhausted ( excuse the pun ) :good:

This happened outside our house after the lad up the road has a constant oil leak. Very very similar size and colour depth.
I bought a load of cheap (£2) nasty wash powder tipped it on and trod it in.
I did this for a few weeks as and when I remembered.
i can still see it 12 months later but it’s 1000 times better.

I did try caustic soda powder and even oven cleaner

nothing worked as well as the washing powder

Excuse the picture it’s from my security camera.

I did put a paving slab over a stain on our drive old drive just free floating on top and it looked ok so that may be an option coupled with the washing powder

I have seen driveway refinishing that you roller on and it really darkens the colour. This may be worth a punt.

Its a vehicle driveway. Live with it!. Life is too short to worry about a little stain.

What a pathetic comment 🙄,  cheers.

You have the driveway dug up and resurfaced for the tenant at a cost of 15 hundred quid and they treat it like that. Yes just live with it 🙄
