I was watching the above yesterday and it showed a guy who was growing white Maize based in Cambridgeshire, and the farmer was complaining about the amount of Crows on his land who were eating the crops as soon as he planted it. It would be a great idea if someone could help this guy out by shooting/trapping them.

Edited to state Maize not Kale.

Also, the road running alongside the farm is the A10.

Hello, Should not be to difficult to locate the farm ??

The farmers name is David Mwanaka, who is from Zimbabwe. The poor guy was planting crops daily in one field, to try and stop the Corvids attacking his crops in the other fields.

He wasn't a farmer when he came to the UK, but missed eating the white Maize etc, and after setting up on one farm, moved to a far bigger one. Not sure about it being a council tenancy. This could be a great opportunity for someone to gain some shooting (Corvids) and maybe more.

going to the trouble of planting for crows doubt he wants anyone shooting but every farmer is entitled to let them eat the profits!

He's only planting one field to 'try' and stop the Crows eating the other crops. He doesn't want them there in the first place, but, being the BBC, there was no mention of 'killing' them!

Hello Steve, I found it online , Cambrige Council have 33,000 Acres of various Farms and his is about a 400 with a Farm shop, You can imagine his frustration with planting and Crows

Yes, he didn't sound pleased about the Crows, but being a BBC program, no mention of shooting etc was heard. It may be worth someone 'local' to the farm. contacting them and offering their help with controlling the Corvids. He could just say no, but if you don't ask etc etc.

Google Earth shows the farm if you put in the postcode.
