samboy
I shoot Olympic skeet one week and Sporting the next week. I enjoy them both but find Olympic more challenging. I only shoot ABT and English skeet in the club competitions. But if i had to choose i would go for Sporting by a whisker. I also shoot Compact\Compak and Fitasc but not very often. Read up on the rules, it can be very unforgiving and chat to the Referee beforehand so he knows you're a newbie.

Have a quick read and give it a go. Super sporting can be considered as a FITASC lite and a good stepping stone into FITASC. Allow up to 6 hours for the shoot as they do like a break them FITASC boys. Typically 25 targets break, 25 targets lunch break, 25 targets another break and then the final 25 targets. Hybrid FITASC shoots can be 50, break, 50 but still a long day. Take a drink and something to eat. Take plenty of cartridges, 150 minimum for a 100 target shoot. Single targets can be shot with the second barrel if missed with the first. You can easily eat through 50 cartridges for a single 25 target parcours if you get some no birds thrown in. I usually shoot around 185-200 cartridges with a 25 bird pool shoot before hand. Edited November 22 by Poor Shot

Westley
If you REALLY want to upset the Trappies, sneak your semi auto in and put your mobile phone on the cartridge stand.........THAT should do it ! 😂😂 Just make sure your ' lift ' is in the car with the engine running ! 🤭

Reason for that is the ejecting shell can fly down the line and collide with the gun standing next to the semi auto shooter Plenty of trap grounds here in Northern Ireland
BobbyH
I have just just at the Priorty CTC and what a place! I did a round of skeet and a round of DTL, first time with acoustics in the DTL too!

It's only become a problem in the last 15 years or so. I won a lot of Comps. using that gun, it finally packed up at a ground near Dublin. Maybe I won so much because the auto put everybody else off ?? 😂😂

Those ‘good ol’ boys’ in the US shot trap with Remington 1100’s.

redial
When steel is forced upon us. It maybe a case of Trap Line take ten paces forward and fit 1/4 & 1/2 chokes. Even my score’s may improve. My favourite ABT but would like to try skeet but not any locally. Edited December 15 by redial
.357shooter
for me it has to be compak.really like this and it suits me the best.sporting comes next but for some reson i tend to not concentrate so much when i shoot this.dtl would be 3rd as i score the worst doing this,do not dislike it but it just does not work so well for me.
