yet a lot of people are still intent to go out of there way to make even more money , where do they get there incentive from ? :hmm:

that would be greed you rarely make a wedge from your own labour it comes from paying others crumbs while keeping the cake yourself and I liked cake but money is just a rich man’s toilet paper or I would swiftly turn another wedge to buy a pair of lungs

I guess some are never satisfied?  Maybe it's 'greed'?

To me, you are taxed when you earn money (Income, NI, CGT), you are taxed when you spend money (VAT, Excise duty, and various other taxes on things we buy and services we use.

You should be free having paid tax to GIVE it free of charge to whoever you wish.  If they spend it, they will pay the taxes due.

I shouldn't have to pay any more  Inheritance Tax (I did pay a modest amount when my father died, because I inherited his bungalow) because I have no other potential inheritance.  However, I would like to be able to give my house and any remaining savings etc to my family (nieces and nephews) when I die, but that will be subject to a lot of tax, which will probably mean the house has to be sold.  It is not what I want, but I suspect it will be necessary.

From the day I left school at 15 I was never out of work up to the day I retired , during the early days of buying my first house and running a family I had to do part time building work when I finished my day job both after tea and at weekends , as you say the materials had V A T which I had to pay for and the working people who I was working for had also paid tax , after a while the tax got wind we were working on these little projects and wanted there share , I had to go to the tax office and was questioned by the S S sitting around the table , I denied all the work they said I done , or most of it and still had to cough up nearly £300 , this jarred me off completely and I vowed I would do my best to avoid paying any more once I have retired , up to a point I have achieved that but they are still taking half out of my very small private pension . you just can't win . Yes, they do that to mine as well!

I don't mind paying for lots of things, transport, defence, the disabled elderly and sick, education, Royals etc.

I don't mind at all paying for the NHS, but wish it was better run

I don't mind paying for the police, courts and justice - but wish they would (between them) do a better job!

There are a few things I don't much like having to pay for, MP's expenses among a few ..........

But I believe we should be able to save and pass our savings (and the farms of those who have them) on to whoever we choose and not pay again.  That should at least make the hard work worthwhile for the next generation

And mine too.

I hate paying for the Royals, the NHS which needs a complete rethink. I would like to see the govt getting tough with tax on fuel, fast food, fags, booze, salt sugar and redirecting the cash into healthy life style choices.

😂😂😂got to be a wind up, taxing not enough, now want to tax my lifestyle, bet you agree with renters rights and telling us how much we can put rents up

At the end of the day I am happy to pay my share but we all know many who take all but put in very little , if any in return , our town centre is full of E U refugees , a lot look working age and yet you see the same ones hanging about on street corners nearly each time you venture up town ,  it have just cost me nearly £400 at the dentist for N H S treatment , and then you see the odd one who cannot talk English signing a form without passing over any money , no doubt on some sort of benefit which exclude them from paying , MM
