Ferretlurcher1970
Does anyone own one. Am attracted by the downward ejection. Worth getting one or not?

Probably the best pump action available if you can get them.
Steel100
Also, have a look at the Ithaca Model 37. It is very similar in design and function. Andy
Stimo22
They did a 16 bore one and I have seen them advertised but never had the opportunity to buy
theshootist Posted Thursday at 21:25 Report Share Posted Thursday at 21:25 They are brilliant. Far superior to a Mossberg in my opinion. Tang mounted safety catch and bottom ejecting. They are well made.
Ferretlurcher1970 Posted Thursday at 21:32 Author Report Share Posted Thursday at 21:32 Will try and track one down. Get very angry trying to find cases that have been rejected from my maxus
Stimo22 Posted Friday at 09:03 Report Share Posted Friday at 09:03 There are a couple of 12 bores in the Holts sealed bit auction
Ferretlurcher1970 Posted Friday at 16:30 Author Report Share Posted Friday at 16:30 Just had a look. Is that price they normally go for?
impala59 Posted Friday at 23:14 Report Share Posted Friday at 23:14 I have had a few BPS (always regretted selling them!) Great action and somewhat simpler takedown than the similarly configured Ithaca 37, although I personally prefer the handling of the 37. The BPS is made in Japan by Miroku and the metalwork is to their high standards. It is my opinion that the wood to metal fit is better on the older ones, My current one is older and is a lovely, well used one. It was fairly cheap at around £120. The BPS moniker does seem to inflate the price, mine was sold as a Browning Field pump, but is nonetheless a factory marked BPS. Hope you find one, I doubt you will regret it
Ferretlurcher1970 Posted Friday at 23:25 Author Report Share Posted Friday at 23:25 I want one for wildfowling. Auto is driving me nuts loosing the empties
impala59 Posted Friday at 23:29 Report Share Posted Friday at 23:29 A BPS would certainly fit the bill! They are also available in 10g but do tend to be pricy in that gauge
grahamch Posted Saturday at 15:24 Report Share Posted Saturday at 15:24 Had a look at one at Malmo Guns a while back but you need long arms to cycle the action.
Pushandpull Posted Saturday at 16:35 Report Share Posted Saturday at 16:35 A very sound comment. On the 10, for some reason the stroke seems to start a long way out and have a very long travel - definitely one to try before you buy.

You'll be lucky to even see a BPS10 let alone try before you buy. If you see one for sale, buy it immediately and then make it work for you afterwards.
