johnny
I use hornady 40gr bullets through my tikka m595 22-250 but I’m struggling to find any. I tried some 55gr but couldn’t get them to zero. anyone recommend anything for foxes? cheers john
Dougy
Hi johnny, No reason that they should not group, other than just not suited, what is the group size at 100yds ? 1 inch would be expected. try as many as many different brands as you can, this can be costly but would be usual process with buying a new rifle. One of the benefits of reloading.
Windswept
What Hornady 40gr bullets were you using?
Vince Green
High velocity rifles like yours can be very fussy about ammo
Rim Fire
There must be a good range of bullets for that cant one of your RFD order some for you in 40 grn
wymberley
Only posting in case it's applicable as 55gr has been mentioned. Plus it's only ever a guide. Twist Rate = 3.5 X square root of velocity X diameter squared all divided by length.
matone
Nosler 50gr Ballistic Tip.Worked a treat in mine.
Pukka Bundook
Mine works with 50 to 64 grain even if it is a 1~14" twist. I run it about 3500 to 3,800 FPS depending on bullet. Groups very well with any of these. I do not, and it does not, like long bullets with a plastic nose! Keep the bullets short for a slow twist. It does awful well with Sierra 63 Gr semi pointed and Winchester 64 gr the same design. or any of the lead tipped or HP 50 or 55 gr.

Your RFD can be your local shop so when he puts an order in he can put your bullets in the same order that's what mine dose when i need powder or heads or anything i want he makes sure where he gets them from they got them and puts mine in with the order Edited February 18 by Rim Fire
