I dont agree that this is a good enough excuse for those that should not be where they are not allowed to be. Some of us still know what is and what is not right. That is the difference, some people just don't give a dam.

I'm not disagreeing with you, merely pointing out a fact of life.

It will and already has led to more laws being made which equals more restrictions on the law abiding. Take the law on carrying a knife. If you want to carry one for just in case, it must be under a 3" blade and have no locking mechanism, who does that law affect? Probably over the 99% who would never use a knife in anger and will now risk injury or inconvenience, due to the less than 0.1% who might.

If I was younger I'd have emergrated to somewhere less populated already, a nice cabin in the middle of nowhere with me and my dogs 😂

Problems with walkers and the general public at large started in earnest when the pandemic first went into lockdown , the public had loads of time on there hands and the weather was nice , so for exercise they went hiking and if they had a dog then they would take that along as well , most of them didn't know what was on there doorstep and after a while many of then began to wandered off the footpaths , I had a word with a few of them in a friendly manner and after I told them we had Beatle banks , wildflower mix and conservation areas that they didn't want the public and there dogs walking through it , most of them said sorry they didn't realise what was what and I told them and very often showed them where the footpaths were and they could see the wild flower mix along the paths and in the nice weather they should see several Butterflies , now things have settled down a lot and most of stick to the foot paths but you will always get the odd one.    MM

This happened to me in the lockdown i had a field set with mole traps around 30 when i and went and checked one day walkers had seen my flags and pulled every trap and stamped on them there was people wondering all over the place that i had never seen before

I think at the bottom of it all we are over populated. There are other issues already mentioned, but we're a small island running out of space with a far more diverse population all with their own ideas, principles and way of life. Undoubtedly as the country fills up, friction will increase, whether it's fisherman and kayakers, landowners, dog walkers and ramblers, gardeners and cat owners, or motorists and cyclists, to name a few.

It's nothing to do with over population, it's simply people doing what they shouldn't 'cause they think they are entitled to do what they want, when they want.

I'm of that opinion too, also the fact that this behaviour stems from the so called top? The plebs then seeing this not punished think they will have some as well?

I.e human nature and the bigger our society becomes, the less personal and caring it will become, particularly as we loose our national identity and the values and principles it was built on. I respect your view but believe your wrong.

Thing is, the vast majority doing this sort of thing are natives (with the exception of the caravan club), not incomers.

Agreed. However it's part of a wider breakdown of the nation state and it's core values. There's little doubt in my mind that it's not just disrespecting land ownership, but a society that is becoming much more self centred.

The problem stems from the phrase, ‘right to roam’.
The masses have heard of it and think that law applies everywhere.

To a degree, it does.

If you approach someone to point out that they are off the public footpath, they simply act more daft than they are,  and keep walking. They will then leave the land or rejoin the public footpath in the direction that they are going. Unless they have caused damage, that's it, end of. The law of trespass is an A. S.S.  Step foot on their little  bit of England and see how they react  though.

You beat me to it with your edit!
Myself and a farmer friend, along with his entire family, once proved to a regular trespasser that what was sauce for the goose was sauce for the gander by seven of us trampling all over his back garden one Sunday afternoon whilst he was watching TV. We never saw him off the footpath ever again.

Seemingly this breakdown is being promoted as it makes the general population easier to exploit and ultimately control?

Anyone who possesses or owns something seems to be derided and become targeted?

Land and possessions?
