Soddin' rain

Was going to go pigeon bashing this morning.

Spotted a nice flock of 150 walters on rape the last couple of days, and all ready to go this morning.

I hate rain. I wear specs so I can't see, mud every where, the gun needs cleaning, tackle wet, decoys need a wash to get the mud off, cammo net weighs a ton and needs drying out, clothing has to be dried, and personal things shrink (so I'm told, but not noticed it myself  :good: )

I hate the soddin rain  :good::lol:

Chucking it down here

Beating yesterday and halfway through the the 1st drive it really came down, hailstones and all sorts, glad i could shelter in the woods and not a gun on the outside

The second drive we managed to finish, then headed back for an early lunch, and for the 1st time in over 14 years it was then cancelled due to the terrible weather :lol:

Was hoping to get out today for a few hours, will have to see what the rest of the week is like.

So i bought myself a new surround sound system and have been watching Shooter :good::lol: Oh yes i like the rain :D:lol:

Oh for heavens sake what a wimp :lol: . The farmer is complaining about pigeon damage and aged companion is whining about a little rain, anyone would think he hadn't heard of gore tex jackets rather than having a wardrobe full   don is somewhat of a collector of jackets. Many is the time i have been out defending the farmers crops from the grey hordes in torrential rain, howling gales, monsoons and tornado's have never beaten me. For those of you that know don personally i am sure will agree that

1. He never cleans his guns ( i once found grass growing in the action of his cz rimmy)

2. He wears specs 'cos he cant see so what difference does rain make he can't see very far anyway

3. He has never washed his decoys in all the years i have known him indeed he has succesfully decoyed hen pheasants and partridges such is the colour of his deeks.

4. How do you know wet things weigh a ton as you always make me carry everything.

5. He never dries clothes out 'cos he is so rich that wet dirty clothes just get replaced once he has worn them. he has never worn the same pair of socks twice.

6. Not going to comment on the personal shrinkage issue apart from to say i always thought those lumps in his neck were suspicious :lol::D

The real reason he bailed out on going pigeon shooting was alas i had to work today and he would have had to carry his own gear, his son would have taken his spot on the couch at siesta time (aged companion needs lots of naps through the day), he would have missed the corrie omnibus.

Suppose its down to me as usual to protect the farmers crops, good job i done complain..... HA HA HA :lol:

Know what you mean about wearing specs. Can't see a thing when it's raining. I've had to stop wearing them out horseriding cos they're useless in this weather.
