death from below
Oh dear.....my beloved Toon thumped by man U.......I think 6 flattered us.....could easily have been double that.....just a bunch of dopes.....most don't give a damn about wearing the black n white stripes.....but that takes nothing away from the Man U performance....they were fantastic......and my mags were a disgrace.......just hope Mr Mike sorts out this manager situation once and for all and gets someone who he will keep for longer than 2 weeks. At the moment all we are is a poor Premeirship team with a lot of supporters.....and that probably won't chnage for a long time. :o
Blackbart
What are you talking about...5 lucky goals........1 goal that never crossed the line and was given......owens perfectly good goal that wasnt given. If it wasnt for their better commitment, more skill, better players and a greater desire to win we matched them in every other department :o On the subject of the toon,i think harry the bung showed just how ambitious he really is by preffering to stay in charge of the equivelant of a corner shop when he could have been running a supermarket....best off without him,we need someone with ambition. pin
Latest from the rumour factory is Keegan to return with Shearer as his No2. Go on, laugh! When he was there we played attractive flowing football, ok we didn't have a defence but it didn't matter, they score, we score more! It could be argued that we don't have a defence now, if Keegan only concentrated on 50% of the game at the moment we come in somewhere near 0% - we can't score and leak like a ****** fridge :o Still funny? Considering the muppets we've had recently he can't do any worse so why not!
pegleg31
i dont blame harry for not going youve just sacked one good manager and hes doing a great job at portsmouth the sooner you realise your not going to be pushing for the title anytime soon the better now im not knocking newcastle as their a big team and got great fans but a little ground work needs doing and that takes time and do you think shearers the answer great player but what experience has he got :o
pin
You make a fair point. Take the French national side for example. 17 years ago they were ****, sick of not winning they decided they'd quite like to win the world cup. Rather than just getting manager after manager to come in and waste time and resources they worked from the ground up. They set up acadamies, the lot. They had a goal, knew it would take time and knew that the only way to build the squad was to make one almost from scratch. That's what Newcastle need to do. Ok they have the academy but there's not a lot coming out of it. Start again, from the bottom and have a sensible plan for achieving it. Changing managers as often as they change the away kit isn't going to produce any results.

Guest The Outlaw
Looks like your rejects have had a result at least, with us they will be looked out for and cared for not like the shower of whatsits you have now, I loath Man U but they did a number on you lot yesturday and it is sad for such a HUGE club as the TOON to cop it like that. Again I feel sorry for the Fantastic Toon army without them they would be right in it. The Championship that is. Tony
the hitman
It's not the right time for shearer, but whoever becomes manager will always be thought of as second choice after redknapp turned it down. I would just love it ( remember that) if keegan came back, and so would most fans. As far as Owen is concerned i would put him out on loan to Berwick rangers , if they would have him. paulos
Shearer would be a fool to take the job. All he has done for the toon as a player would be forgotten in a heartbeat by the players if he wasn't successful. They just need to wake up to the fact that their team just isn't up to it yet. Suffolk shooter
Sorry I keep seeing/hearing words such as big, huge and great put infront of the word club in the context of Newcastle United. Can anybody tell me what it is that makes Newcastle a big, Huge or great club? I can think of only one thing and that is the fans. What has the team, the management or board ever won the club? or more to the point when was the last time the aforementioned trio won the club something, (and I'm not talking about the days of Keegan and Micky Quinn winning promotion from the 2nd and 1st division), a top division title, an FA cup, a League Cup, a UEFA or European Cup? The sooner people start realising that the club need to get back to basics and start from scratch without sacking a manager every five seconds when he farts loudly the better. I feel for the Toon army, they don't deserve whats happening to them at the moment. By the way Shearer won't take it on as he is too much of a mary poppins and wants to remain an idol rather than fighting in the trenches to get the job done. Plus he doesn't have the necessary experience in terms of man management. I can however see Keegan and Shearer (#2) team working as long as Keegan is happy to groom him and then leave? Whilst Allerdyce isn't completely exonerated from fault, the players need to look at themselves and if they're not disgusted with their performances this season, then they aren't fit to lace my boots up, let alone play football. I have never seen such a pathetic bunch of overpaid, arrogant players in my life. I don't want to hear about being played out of position, position has got **** all to do with kicking a ball with your feet or blocking a run/pass/shot with your feet/body. Players play out of position all over the place for many teams and do well. Look at lowly, cash strapped/in administration/ sold all the players Luton Town against Liverpool. They can hardly put together a team let alone subs or worry about what positions those they have got should be playing in and played the Reds off the Park. That was a team with commitment, passion and above all PRIDE. The NUFC players need to take a damn good look at themselves and IMHO give all their wages back from the start of the season to the club who should then in return give all those who have brought a season ticket their money back. Just my tuppence, oh and by the way I'm an Everton Fan, so don't talk to me about relegation battles and poor performances because until David Moyes came along we were doing exactly what you are now. Only difference is we have won things recently and often in our history. SS Edited January 13, 2008 by Suffolk shooter

digger
I see the owner is looking to take them " back to the glory days ", which days were those then ? Having huge support does not mean you will win cups / titles. Having huge fat supporters showing off their bellies when its minus one does not mean NUFC will win. Small town football with pretentions of granduer, glory days my foot, get with the programme, NUFC are and always have been a mid table team at best. Blackbart
Theres nothing like a bit of football banter to bring the best out of people. We have 50 posts a minute outlaw having a snipe who,s team only escaped relagation on the last day with the help of man utd and an illegaly signed player. Then we have digger who being from london i presume is a man u supporter who jumped on the bandwaggon when they started winning things or a chelski fan who bought his first season ticket when the russian mafia took over. As to what makes newcastle a big club, today was pompeys biggest away support so far, they had 600 yes six hundred at sunderland..we took 6000 yes six thousand to blackburn (which just about doubled their gate)admittedly we dont have a big team at the minute but with the support, stadium, funds i think yes we are a big club
Guest The Outlaw
Ahem I think the Toon are being hard done by, by the inadequesies of the owner and the players not the fans, get over it and grow up mate its a game after all. Another hard done by footie fan, we have all been there so learn to take the rough with the smooth. Man U and Chelski will all fall flat on thier faces one day, its your turn now so suck it up and stop throwing your dummy out of your pram. Tony
