Cranfield
The "Sporting Gun thread" made me wonder what shooting magazines everyone takes, either regularly or occassionally. I have the Sporting Gun delivered (usually). I use to buy the Shooting Times, but it went seriously down hill and I haven,t bought it since. Which ones do you buy ? Pigeon Pieman
BASC by magic, the others I read in the newsagent and buy if they interest me! Wouldn't want to waste money

Deako
I agree that the 'Gazette' is aimed at the 'posher' end of the market,'sporting gun' is ok if you can tolerate the worlds supply of spelling mistakes and printing problems. The most improved mag, in my opinion, is 'shooting times', the quality has improved so much since Rob Gray took over as editor. I won't even comment on the others. lazza
I subscribe to the Sporting Gun, & also buy the Shooting Times from the corner shop. The spelling mistakes in the Sporting Gun don't bother me, as I can't read!.
Pigeon Pieman
Has anyone noticed how the Shooting Times has got thinner in recent years There aren't even that many general adverts - unless you want to 'grow partridges/pheasants or make houses for dogs :C Haven't seen a good glossy 'buy my contents' supplement for ages :what:
Deako
Laz, saw an excellent book for you the other day, no words, just pictures...it was called 'how to safely find your way out of a motorway service station car park' Sorry lads, private joke! Yorkshire Pudding
I take the shooting times almost every week, i also take the countrymans weekly( very occasionally) Don't bother with the thicker monthly mags , as like everybody else i read em in Smith's. all the best Y.I.S
Cranfield
Its interesting how few people seem to get The Shooting Times. I can remember when it was THE shooting magazine. Then they changed the format, contents listings etc. Just goes to prove, "if it ain,t broke don,t fix it".
highdowns hunter
I buy the sporting gun and the shooting times when the sporting gun is not on the newsagents shelf. The shooting times does have it good weeks depending on the season
billm
I get s.t. every week the format has certainly changed but it still has its good and bad weeks and it has definitely got thinner but still a good read. b. m.
