Newsportshooter
Top rifle - I have one too. Re the ammo - I prefer CCI 20 Grain jacketed hollow points. M

mr lee
I rarely shoot my .22 now I have the .17. The only downside is the extra cost of the rounds.
Axe
Good shot. The Quad is a nice rifle but I seldom change barrels. Put the .22LR back on recently and quickly decided the next trip will have the HMR back on. My barrel prefers Federal Premium V-SHOK
al4x
Good shot. The Quad is a nice rifle but I seldom change barrels. Put the .22LR back on recently and quickly decided the next trip will have the HMR back on. My barrel prefers Federal Premium V-SHOK unless noise is an issue why limit yourself with the .22 nice fox, personally i find the Vmax far better than the 20 grain bullets because they expand better rather than go straight through. I've shot a few with the 20's and most have run a bit, not far but further than ones I've shot with the 17 grain vmax. Although they ran it was with a hole through both lungs and heart so they weren't going far

Evil Elvis
Nice one, ive shot 2 foxes with my hmr and they have both run a short distance before falling over dead.....seen the same with .223 and .243.. as long as they fall over.....cést la vié! Dave-G
Seems to be several lucky members with 17HMR conditioned for fox. Leicester won't oblige. Lucky someone is with me with a suitably conditioned licence issued by a different force area when foxy is dealt with when I'm around.
