Blackpowder
Refering to uncocking a hammer gun on loaded chambers, I have always found that when cocking or uncocking the thumb gets a much better grip on the hammer when the barrels are pointed vertically to the sky. GJUK
Wonder if he used ear defenders ?He's probably now deaf as well as dumb I have an awesome image of someone inside, carefully putting on ear defenders, loading a gun, taking aim and shooting at his foot. hehe

lancashireunter
Remember that this was reported in the mirror, it was most prob an air gun! Im surprized they didnt imply that he was an arrogant toff just back from blasting pheasants. I remember a few years ago, I read in the mirror that Madonna was argueing with guy ritche about his pheasant shooting which she thought was cruel. When actualy the day before she had been on a shoot herself but not hit a bird all day, so the keeper had taken her into the wood and let her shoot one out of a tree!! Not the most reliable paper the mirror!!
dustyfox
I just reading the BASC Handbook and it says NEVER load a shotgun indoors there is No Excuse for it. So I think if the lad and anybody else in the home who owns a SGC should get theres revoked as they have breached one of the major rules of safety. The Police give you a license because they trust you to be safe with a gun, obviously these people aint got a safety conscious. Df
Zapp
Loading a gun indoors.... B) The remnants of his foot should get a Darwin Award for allowing themselves to be attached to an idiot. ZB

Zapp
Come on, surely we have all loaded up indoors and shot a telly whilst raging drunk? Well, yes, of course, but I kept my feet well away from the telly before firing. ZB

starlight32
I don't know what you are all so touchy about... I used to switch the telly off with a Remington 1100..... Only been since I have been with the new bird I have had to pack it in as we have moved over to LCD and they are little dear to replace....... Imperfection
Come on, surely we have all loaded up indoors and shot a telly whilst raging drunk? Only when Eastenders is on. :( I just thought about a Simpsons episode where Homer gets a pistol and uses it for things like switching lights on etc.Perhaps this bloke was doing the same.... YoungGun
The first thing I was taut was to never load the gun until your ready to shot! Plus having it pointed at your foot!
