None of them,

If it is cheap you are after then Eley firsts all the way.

If you want good then take a look at Express. I use 28gr Pro Comp in 8's and 9's and pay less than most of them.

ill ask if it is possible to purchase any other brands from the ground but for now im going purley by the website :)

I'm currently shooting Express 24gr. When I get reasonable at shooting I'll probably shoot a combination of 28gr and 24gr, but at the moment the 24gr seem perfectly adequate.

From my very limited experience I've found that the gun has more effect on whether I get excessive recoil. I borrowed a fellow lady shooter's gun (Miroku?) for a couple of cartridges and I found the recoil of her gun pretty bad, yet she doesn't notice it, whereas I can shoot 28gr out of my own gun (Winchester) and not notice much difference between the 2 weights.

But then again I'm a long way from the point where weight going to make a huge difference to my shooting skill!

In that case just use Eley firsts. They a re a good cartridge that do the job.

I don't have any confdence in Eley cartridges and have tried most. I always end up going back to Express.

Shooting Hull Compx 21g 8's

Its one of the best carts ive used.

Ive also used, Gamebore; Blue Diamond 28g 8's, Hull Intercomp 28g 8's, Eley First 28g 8's, Hull Chevrons 28g 8's and many more, all do the same job with little extra recoil, but the comp x seem to be excellent. Also very cheap atm.

I have shot 28gm for years normally Eley Olympic Trap but recently have been shooting 24gm Express Hv standard.

The recoil feels about 50% less than the Eley and the kills are just as good.I pay £136 per thousand for these.

I have also tried Hull in 21gm and have been pleasantly surprised by these but they throw quite a tight pattern through my most open chokes.

The best advice I can tell you is find one that you like and stick with it.

I've used all of the above an prefer the Blue Diamonds out of them all, however if recoil is an issue for you then I would look at 24g instead. You won't see a drop in performance but you should notice a considerable drop in recoil. My favourite cart at the moment is Hull Pro One - both in 28g and 24g :good:

Well I wouldn't put myself in the "quite a few good shots" bracket but I would certainly recommend them Cat :good:

I can't compare them to Viri as I have not used them but they give excellent breaks and with much less bump than the Express Super Comps I was using before. The No. 9's are especially good I've found
