Stolen

Absolutely gutted. Went to my yard this morning and found that my four wheel drive tractor and brand new 5 foot topper had been stolen in the night. The tracks out the gate led to the main road heading towards Portsmouth. The Police think that it will be crated and off to the docks. It looks like they had a Landrover and a fairly large trailer. They managed to break the headlight on the landrover on something. Im hoping that the Police have enough time to check any road cameras but Im not holding my breath.

Very ****** off

we could all possibly guess who stole these items and have a good chance of finding them if we were allowed to search the sites where the ******** live.Unfortunatly, according to my local plod, this is an infringement on their human rights.Last year we had 8 caravans stolen from our village when the milton keynes site doubled in size-how many were found?-none-one chap even saw them nicking a van from his farm and gave the police the registration number-nothing-the police know the chap and have arrested him several times for similar offences but dont have the resources to find him :good: .

Hi

Yes I think I've just read about that in the local paper. May well have been the same ********. The tractor is four wheel drive Jinma 25 hp, red, white wheels, large roll bar and has a brand new altenator on it. The topper I only brought 3 weeks ago, runs on skids, colour green, 5 feet, looks and is like new. They also tried to take other impliments but I think they didnt have the room. Problem is they are going to come back I'm sure.

Thanks for any help

Chris

A nearby estate that lets land to a gravel company had a D9 bulldozer and two Volvo loading shovels pilfered in March, in the dead of night. The gang who did it used three low-loaders, ripping out the very substantial gates with the D9 before carting the whole lot off. The thieves didn't realise the massively expensive D9 was fitted with a GPS tracker. It was tracked and found in northern Poland three days later.

We lost a £65k telehandler, a Gator and a new Defender last year, and we have had a brand-new Defender go walkies so far this year, together with a comprehensive break-in in one of the workshops. Plod doesn't give a stuff, but luckily our NFU office is very understanding.

Thats pretty good, we should give these guys jobs in the Royal Mail.

I posted a letter first class the other weeks and it took 4 days to travel about 100 miles!

Just how good is the NFU. I've reported it to them today and they are sending me out a claim form but they also said that they cant do anyting for 2 weeks incase it turns up. Do they give you enough money to actually replace what you have had stolen or do you end up arguing the toss with them over it.

We got the full value back, with no quibble. We also burnt a grain drier to a crisp in November, and the NFU have been quick and decent with getting a replacement installed and commissioned for this July.

Thats a real pain we had a specialist truck stolen a few years ago(the police said it would be heading for the Docks of false plates ) and they even broke into the building and stole the cctv capture equipment

Now we subscribe to tracking company for all plant and vehicles its around £200-300 installation and then i think its around 30p a day on a annual subscription

and added expense true !

But on that particular truck we got paid out around 30% less than the cost to replace it and additionally we lost the income from the truck until they paid out

I apologize for the after the horse has bolted comment but its something that owners of plant and expensive equipment should consider its a small cost in comparison and you may save on insurance also reducing the installation outlay however tracking greatly increases the chances of recovery..

it sure does and had you got trackers similar to ours you can see from your pc where it is all day long, even makes sure workers aren't skiving off. Plus means if you were that way inclined you could go and find it yourself without bothering the police <_<

They stole my quad and trailer to take our gas cutting kit to a building site and used the gas to cut into the site and cut up some reels of cable.

Fortunatly got the quad back as they dumped it (I think it has something to do with the trying trying drive along the road in the dark with headlights that dont work <_<???

It was pretty clear right from the offing that this was much more than the usual *****-related theft. There'd obviously been a lot of surveillance of the site. If anyone's curious, this is a D9 bulldozer (not a small piece of kit): http://www.cat.com/cda/layout/cda/layout?m...=7&f=227349

like you said it,s probebly overseas already.the golf course were i worked was done regulary my sheds were broken into 11 times between feb and july.they got over a 8ft palistrale fence used bolt croppers on the locks so i made it so they could not get at the locks so the chopped a hole through the door so i put steel sheets over the doors so they came in through the roof, the last time it was ******.they had called in one friday afternoon asking did we want any potholes in the car park filling up as they had some tarmac left over from a job,the secretary/manager asked how much, the price of a pint for me an the lads he said.ok go ahead and do it.a dozen barrows of tarmac are thrown down.never cleaned the holes or keyed it in,quick roll.job done. £300 the thieving toe rag wanted so he got told to shove it an was offered £50 or dig it back up.so he left cursing and making threats.the following week they came in through the roof and took everything that could be carried.mowers strimmers chainsaws they even used our weelbarrows to carry our kit off to a van they had parked on the hard shoulder of the motorway.then they cut the fuel lines on the ride on mowers and nicked all the petrol and used our jerry cans.the police were very helpfull, they gave me a crime no for the insurance co.

Well I had the forensic man in today and he has come across something that just might lead to these ********. I cant say what it was but needless to say if they knew they dropped it they would be bricking it. I know its a long shot of getting my tractor and topper back even if they are caught its probably been moved on already. I went into my local NFU today and apparently there has been a load of similar break ins in my area. One on the same night. Ive spent some time waiting around the yard as Ive been told they will come back pretty quickly after the first time to get the rest of the gear they couldnt take that night. The thing is can you legitimately have in your possession a baseball bat on your own property in the early hours? I must admit I have got a pretty good swing.

Cheers

Ace ***** bashing, do we not have any resident ****** on here then?

Need to tread carefully with weapons of any sort they will sue, if they don't it will probably mean they will just come back and burn your place down. However if you were to come across them with a big dog you will find they are fairly compliant.

locally a neighbours wife disturbed some and got a fair beating for her troubles.

Our local plod is pretty hot at stopping them in our area, it has however taken a couple of years but the theft and coursing has reduced a lot now. It helps that they take their motors and anything in them when they catch them.

The ****** managed to nick a 1000 gallon fuel tank (which was almost full) off my permission. I'm truly amazed how on earth they got that off there without making a sound. Non stop break ins at my permission and there's a site just down the road.
