How did you go about choosing your cartidges?
Scully replied to Newbie_Louise's topic in Clay Pigeon Shooting
For me it was always a compromise between what others advised and what was readily available locally. I’ve been through cheap and expensive and more different brands in all manner of configuration than I can recall. The local ground you shoot at will possibly dictate what you shoot, via what they stock, but you’ll eventually settle on one or two which appear to give you more consistent results. When that happens, resisting the temptation to change when you have a couple of ‘off’ days is important, because if you had good results and then suddenly don’t, it isn’t the cartridge. There are no quick fixes and there’s an awful lot to learn over a long long time, but it’s worth the effort. -
Admittedly I have no experience of this make. I’m aware they’re towards the budget end of the Italian market, but does anyone who owns one know of any issues common to the make, model not being relevant?

No prison for buying or selling firearms without licence...
Scully replied to Dave-G's topic in General Shooting Matters
I thought Churchill was First Lord of the Admiralty towards the end of the Great War, and it was LLOYD George, the Liberal Prime Minister of the time, who tightened and restricted freedoms to own firearms in this country in response to fears that the revolution in Russian could happen in Great Britain. 👍 -

It doesn’t say what happened to the license holder who sold the guns to Plant, knowing he wasn’t a ticket holder. 🤷♂️ -
My go to combination for pigeons is Eley Pigeon Select through 3/8th. Works really well for me. The same cartridge through my full choked trap guns is devastating on crows even way out there.

It’s all beginning to read as if there has never been sufficient evidence to convict, but they did anyway. It’s an awful mess which is going to take a long time to clear up, with repercussions all round, including the parents of those who lost kids. Awful awful mess.

With you. 👍 Couple of thick sticky plasters?

None of which supports your claim in your initial post; not even back in your ‘wild days’, as you’ve just pointed out! So which is it? You can’t have it both ways. I have plenty of first hand experience of corruption and bias within those who police us, but again, none of that supports what you claimed in your initial post.

Beretta A303 sporter probably the best there is

I’d have to agree; as autos go it’s up there with the best. -
Trigger shoe? My 1500 XTR tends to ‘snap’ on my trigger finger after a long days decoying. Fitted a ‘shoe’ and it’s no longer a problem.

I don’t know of any. 🤷♂️ I shoot and beat on more than a few shoots, both commercial and otherwise, and despite BASC’s or ( @Conor O'Gorman) s claims to the contrary, I’ve yet to meet either which insists on non toxic.

‘Guilty every time, but not convicted once’! So despite all you claim ( which would render you banged up regardless! ) and as if any point needed proving….here you are, free to post on social media! Who’d have thought? 🤷♂️

If it’s voluntary it’s pointless. If cartridge manufacturers are still making lead shot then guns will continue using it. Why wouldn’t they? It’s only those who depend on driven game shooting for their income, including the saleability of its produce to those who have been deliberately misled about the risks of eating lead shot game, who are driving this agenda.

Nothing is infallible, I never claimed it was. You however, are making sweeping generalisations which plainly aren’t true….as usual. Why do you do that? There are many examples of people being charged with a crime and then found not guilty, despite your claims in a previous post, just as there are many examples of people wrongly convicted being found innocent on appeal or following further investigation. Until we find a system which is foolproof beyond human participation, what do you suggest we do?
