Is there an election coming up?

Running scared I think?

Cameron and the rest of the establishment are scared witless that UKIP may actually put up a good show at the GE so they are trying to poach a few UKIP ideas to undermine Farage. We can all see through it, we know that nothing will actually come of it the same as we will never get a proper "in or out" vote even if the Cons do win the election. There will always be some way they will wriggle out of it,

Europe is Europe, the continent, starting at the French coast and ending somewhere around Turkey, we are not in Europe, we are an island and always will be, apart from that blasted tunnel which should really be a giant sewer sending our effluent to France.

With Blair as a peace envoy to the middle east, Cameron will want to be EU commissioner at some point to bolster the family coffers for the future. Let's remember that when the election comes around.

I like Nigel Farage. He might not be perfection, but he is more likeable than the other three leaders.

What he has done is stuck a firework or two in some awkward places. The three leaders seem to be rushing round like headless chickens promising anything - strong on promises, short on detail - in a desperate attempt to keep votes.

It's almost, if not, truly pathetic.

Don't be stupid tt, of course we are in Europe geographically. Any amount of bleating and socialist nuspeak will not change that fact. The white inhabitants of Europe are of Caucasian stock so that includes the such inhabitants of the British Isles, past or current. That racial fact alone links us despite the disappearance of the land bridge of ancient times.

Our past history from Roman times onwards shows how tied up we are with Europe both economically and politically. Our last two major interferences could have been avoided by the UK. We did not have to honour those treaties and obligations, but we did just as we do now.

Go it alone in this modern global age and we will soon fade into insignificance.

It might surprise you but so are certain other countries in Europe. Spain, Italy, Greece, Germany to name but a few. And contrary to popular Daily Mail fed belief they don't all end up here. Top five immigrant nationalities coming to UK are Chinese, India, Poland, US, Australia. I know people in the first three categories and they and their friends are hardworking, pay taxes etc. Which is more than can be said for the feckless white British scum floating around this area sapping off the state year in year out and Teesside including Hartlepool has a huge number of those.

No massive generalisations there.:lol:

Check the population of our prisons. Full of a disproportionate number of hardworking, honest people who do not originate from the UK.

apart from the poles tell me how the rest are the top when they have no automatic right to work here ? or are they bringing skills we need unlike the VAST amount of unskilled European labour that is turning up like seacoal on the beach IE wave after wave.

All of whom (bar the Poles) have to apply for a work/study visa.

The problem with EU immigration is nobody actually knows how many are here, or are planning on coming here. And as there is no requirement for visas nobody is ever likely to know either.

How can we plan our health, housing and infrastructure when we have no idea what our population will be from one year to the next?

Much though I like you KJ, sometimes you are a tit. The majority of America and Australia is white Caucasian, that doesn't make them European. Russia and Canada are joined geographically for most of the year, that doesn't mean Canada is Russian or vice versa.

Britons may be a mixed stock but we have evolved and are now different to our roots.

By your argument we should all be considered African as Africa is supposed to be the birthplace of Homo Sapiens.

We got involved in the last 2 world wars and numerous smaller ones to help oppressed nations because that's the kind of people we are, not like the rest of Europe who (bar a few honourable exceptions) tend to side with whoever has the biggest army and the most money.

Maybe this modern global age needs a country to lead the way and show that the European superstate is a ridiculous concept that should never have got off the ground.

Labour won't, Liberals can't and Tories will wiggle out of it if they can.

You may have to check your history and your geography Timmy, the Americas and Australia was colonised by white Europeans, from Europe. Canada in in the North American continent (not to mention the fact that it is Alaska and not Canada that is close to Russia), Russia is on the Eurasian land mass and contains a whole palate of people with varying genetic backgrounds. Britons have not evolved in any Darwinian sense the last couple of thousand years, we are a genetic mix of different people that have developed a European subculture that is a product of our history of mixing with the world. Modern humans left Africa many tens of thousands of years ago and many tens of thousands of years before agriculture stopped our hunter gatherer days and before we had any notion of country or state. We didn't get involved in world wars to help oppressed nations through any British sense of decency, we got involved because we had political alliances and agreements - and for some less than honourable reasons in a few cases.

The thing that saddens me most is when people use any of the facts above to make judgements on the effectiveness, or not, of the EU. These things are separate ideas and using them just muddies the waters and builds resentment and hatred that diverts the attention. The EU is an ideological and political problem, not a racial or cultural one.

Lets not forget the reason for the creation of the European state eh? Since the dawn if history we've all been knocking seven shades out of each other. If we are all using the joint account it does diminish the chances of a rematch somewhat.

I can't help but notice that many of the EU cynics are also (and rightly so) very respectful in any thread related to the world wars. The irony is not lost on me.
