  1. I always stick to 10x mag for rimfire and Air-Rifle, so that mildots are true on that mag. Has always worked well for me head shooting bunnys !
  2. Personally I would use Phil Crampton at: The Rat Works or Sandwell Field Sports. ATB Matt
  3. Am so glad I dont fund BASC now. I just wish I had left them far sooner. And while they rake in all this cash they don`t seem to support their volunteer staff to well from what I have herd. I wonder what happens when I put on my renewal that I dont have a doctor / GP. My older surgery closed down two years ago and I haven't visited it in 10-15 years, am young and healthy with no complaints so have had no need to re-register with a surgery. I wouldn't even have a clue what happened to my medical records from the old place ! If for some reason I had to join a GP surgery locally just for my renewal then its a bit of a joke as I would be paying for a report from a Dr who`s never met me and has no records of me, a waste of time and money on everyone's behalf.
  4. And again I turn to the PW population for some advice / recommendations. I am about to do my loaders course and am keen to get out and get some loading experience under my belt. However I will require a loaders bag before I start......so from the experienced loaders amongst us..... What bag do you recommend ? Regards Matt
  5. I like semi-autos but for me now they are for rough walk rounds doing pest control or for shooting from a hide. For the little I do of either I got rid of my M2. Am always tempted to have another back but its not worth the expense currently.
  6. As above folks, We maybe in the market for a trap gun for the wife... But i haven't a clue about trap guns. Budget £1k but ideally cheaper. Right handed and 12bore. 30" maximum barrels but ideally 28" if viable. What do you recommend or know of for sale ? Not committing to a purchase just yet until she's given it a few more goes but if it looks like it's working out for her then I want to get her something that fits her and is a constant for her to learn with sooner rather than later. She does have high cheek bones too. And a 9lb gun would be too heavy for her. Regards Matt
  7. I dont have a Semi-Auto but always picked mine up after me when I used one even if it did cause the next shooter delay. Am also fully awear that spent cases on the floor isn't just semi-auto users.
  8. Windermere as we are up in the morning to the 4x4 driving place on the edge of Windermere, not the in Bowness part if I have that right. ATB Matt
  9. As above folks, can anyone recommend a place to stay as close to Windermere as possible ? Am taking the wife away for her birthday later in the year so am looking for personal recommendations. TIA Matt
  10. Ben where in Shrewsbury are you ? This would be handy to know because my only current option for pigeon is Eccleshall butchers. Also do you take rabbits ?
  11. 17.5 too, in al fairness its to small for me but its the wife who mostly uses it and she`s a far smaller frame than me ! but It could easily be done ( damaging the twins) in the smaller saddle !
  12. Love ours and have done circa 100k miles in it now. Great off road and on all the journeys I've asked it to do. Oil and filter every 10k miles and everything is great. I plan to only replace it only when its dead beyond repair Which at the current rate will be over 200k miles. It will also only be replaced with another, the only thing that I want in a newer one is A/C for clearing steamed up windows when you get back to it cold and wet from shooting as the heater is great but it does steam things up ! ATB Matt
  13. Any guidance on the amount of Marmalade to vodka ?
  14. Never had this Issue with our Kent and Masters or our FCS Saddles. Although I do recommend the Under Armour tight fitting Boxerjock 23cm, good support, no chafing or squashing injuries either. Make sure you adjust once settled in the saddle too.
  15. 16 inch CZ 452 with a SAK is how I would spend my cash. Although a Browning fan, a T-Bolt would be the last Rim-fire I would buy, I really didn't like the one I used once, It wasn't nice to operate and needless to say I didn't hit much that night with it !
  16. I enjoyed my day there today, got my Meindle boots I wanted and my mate got a good deal on a left handed Franchie Affinity, also a pair of camo trousers for £10 and a bar to hang Muntjac from for £10 also I got myself sorted with a nice pair of teague chokes. I did pay for a loaded burger and a pork pie with apple sauce on top but knew what to expect so I enjoyed my day.
  17. Folks, We have just had a new bathroom fitted (shower with extraxtor fan not actually a bath) and we have a newly boarded and plastered ceiling. Now I need to paint it........But: 1. Can I just put Dulux bathroom paint straight on or do I need to do a mist coat with plain white emulsion first ? 2. If I do need to do a mist coat what ratio of paint and water should I mix ? 3. How long should I give the mist coat to dry? 4. How many coats of Dulux bathroom paint should I apply? TIA Matt
  18. Really barren here. I would really struggle to shoot 10 bunnys in a few hours out now. 5 maybe but 10 would be a struggle. I've not known this few rabbits before. ATB Matt
  19. Gutted, I cant make the Jack Pyke this year and had in mind that I would have still had the PW shoot this year.
  20. I wouldn't have a clue how to do this. Am also not going messing about with it when it's not something I remotely understand.
  21. Right here I am posting form our new Samsung Tab A with 5gz WiFi....... Speed test was the first thing we did and...... 109meg download threw the WiFi So our engineer was correct, the higher speeds is accessed via 5ghz. Really happy now with both the Tab A & 5ghz 100meg WiFi speed. ATB Matt
  22. I hear what you’re saying folks. BUT ……I don’t believe congestion is an issue as when I did my speed tests I was stood next to the virgin engineer, the tests were 30seconds apart. Every time he got 98meg to - 117meg, every time on our above named devices we got 25-35 meg. Even when we did a speed test on his phone at the same time as I did one on my phone he still got 91meg and I got 5meg. Same network, same time two different results. We did this maybe 10-20 times and every time the same result, the only difference was his phones vs ours. Our router is kicking out 100meg, he could receive and use it but we could only get a third of it. He was on 5ghz and our phones IPAD wouldn’t detect / receive 5ghz. Finger crossed we will have a new tablet this Sunday with 5ghz wifi and we can test the theory!
  23. The Virgin engineer came to sort or broad band and both his personal phone a Iphone 8 and his work Samsung Note both on speed tests gave 100 meg. Hard wired via ethanet cable so did the laptop we borrowed. Yet our Ipad 2, My 8 week old Huawei P8 lite and the wife's Samsung J5 2017 all only got 25 meg. The engineers two phones had 5ghz wifi but mine and the wife's phones don`t. From what I've read online this info is correct that 5GHZ will give you better speeds but at closer distances. https://support.stuff-fibre.co.nz/hc/en-us/articles/226438147-What-is-the-difference-between-2-4-GHz-and-5-GHz-
  24. So one for the tech guys and girls....... For the last 8ish years we have used a Ipad 2 & HP Laptop (90% + use on the IPad2) We use them for our internet browsing an you-tube watching. But the Laptop has pegged it and the Ipad is slow and the battery life isnt what it once was. We have 100meg broadband but the IPad2 only has 2ghz wifi receiver so cant make use of the 100meg speed available. So we are now looking for a second tablet, the ipad has been excellent and trouble free. But a new Ipad will cost us a fortune so we have almost ruled that out so that leaves androids. What android do folk rate and recommend that`s sub £200 with 5ghz wifi ? We have spotted the Huawei T3 10" with 16gb of storage, does anyone have one and what do they think of it? Also what do you use / recommend for anti-virus protection (never used anything on the ipad) ? TIA Matt
